Day 8: Depression And Dependence Pain

Update, May 8, 2022: It’s come to my unfortunate attention that my X has many narcissistic traits. I encourage anyone that is going through a weird and painful relationship to please research narcissism.
No one told me about this and I was clueless. 4 years later I know about narcissism but am paying the very painful price for having dated one. Below are some links for you to learn from. Very helpful and informative.

A funny thing happened today.
Yes, I’m still very sad and depressed at the loss of the person I thought I would be with til the end.
But, I have a girl who wants to try out for my musical duo.
To replace my girl who sang with me.
I was nervous but we made a time to meet up.
We met at a place and had a drink and hot dog.
She turned out to be very cool in that we had extremely similar beliefs on life.
She had the same job that my X had and works at the school that my X quit.
I was blown away at our similarities!!!
Later, we went to her place to sing and see if things worked out.
They were good and we talked more about our similar beliefs.
It was kind of surreal.
I wondered if we would date?
I wondered if it was too soon for me to be in another relationship?
I wondered if I should just heal and not think of her as a future date?
The bad news was she had a guy she was seeing so I have a good friend now.
Drove home happy to meet someone who may work out musically.
I am working on being by myself and developing my hobbies more…
Being more independent.
I am also working on loving myself more and seeing the things that I am good at so I can have self-esteem.
Funny, how little that helps, sometimes.
But, still very sad that I don’t have my girl at my side to talk to and be with!
