About Me — Paul Neathery

Magical, musical, romantic writer about life.

Dylan and Dad in Abbey Music Studio.

I bought my 1st house back in 2005 and have been happy in it since.

I started writing as a newbie on Medium and I have to say that it is probably equally exciting and scary! Writing articles and putting them online for the world to read and critique!?

I did not know what I was doing, much as I started writing…

I want to write colorful, creative, and interesting articles. I also want to entertain, teach, and enlighten people. But I don’t know if others will agree? I hope this one isn’t too bad.

I was very excited to reach 100 followers after 5 weeks on Medium. But, I was even more surprised when I started making nickels & dimes on my first 2 metered works. Maybe they will turn into dollars? :)

1. “Death To Your Anxiety”

2. “Love At First Sight”

I also started creating on my YouTube Channel and am very excited about growing that as well.

A little about myself…

I am 51 years young with a great son. I love raising him and look forward to him being a caring, strong, and smart young man soon.

I have lived in Milwaukee, Wisconsin my whole life. But, I love traveling as often as I can. Though, I have not made it out of the country yet.

I enjoy music, good movies, pizza, and bacon cheeseburgers.

A little Italian food and even Japanese, Chinese, and Vietnamese sometimes.

But, I am pretty simple when it comes to food mostly.

My writing skills…

I have done some writing in the past and am a professional musician and teacher. I write my own songs and have a CD that I produced called, ‘Girls.’

So, when I came across Medium, I thought it would be fun and a challenge. Could I write an article for Medium? Well, I guess I am right now. :)

Could I write a 2nd article and continue writing until I got better?

Would I receive nice comments or get 100 followers? This remains to be seen so far.

I am starting to learn that there is a lot of work that not only goes into writing but also learning how to get your writing out and read by people.

I like to write articles on self-development, music, relationships, and anything that I am really into.

My hobbies…

I enjoy traveling as much as I can.

I like to drive and visit many states staying overnight in each as I go. Usually with my son in the back seat. I’ve had so many fun times and had so many great adventures crisscrossing the country like that.

I’ve traveled to Texas, Alabama, Florida (many times), California, Arizona, New York, Philadelphia, and Washington D.C. I wish I would have been writing then. I would have a lot of interesting reads.

I’ve been looking into RVs for when I retire.

The dream of living out of an RV and traveling anywhere in the US is very exciting to me. But, that costs a lot of money so….

I will have to start saving. But, having an online job makes it more possible to live and travel in an RV. Exciting!! I’m hoping that I can be successful with my work.

Dylan and Dad at The Grand Canyon, Arizona.

I like meeting people, of all kinds, and getting to know them. I also like performing my songs in front of people and seeing good live music.

There is nothing like playing a song that you have written in front of people. Anxiously waiting to see if they like it or not. Ouch, that is hard! But, for some reason, I do it.

I’ve written my own music lesson sheets that I have used for my students for the last 33 years.

I’m looking to add teaching videos to my YouTube Channel and see if I can make a go of that. Along with other videos on many different subjects.

I am also thinking of doing some Medium videos for that as well. I have a lot of big, new, and wild ideas in this new year of 2022. :)

It’s like the old quote:

“Winners embrace hard work. They love the discipline of it, the trade-off they’re making to win. Losers, on the other hand, see it as punishment. And that’s the difference”…Lou Holtz

Or this one:

“Talent means nothing, while experience, acquired in humility and with hard work, means everything.”…Patrick Suskind

I say I will keep going and growing and see where Medium takes me! I am very excited to see how the future goes for this 51 years young man!

peace, paul
