BMW Brings a Head-Up for Bikers With Their Own Smart Glasses
Bikers can ride with ease thanks to BMW’s Motorrad ConnectRide smart glasses.

So, in some of my previous chats, I’ve talked about cool tech stuff like smart glasses, you know, the ones with augmented reality and virtual reality features. If you missed those, don’t worry, I’ll share the links later.
But today, I wanna dive into a new topic: smart glasses! And guess what? BMW has jumped into the game with its own version made specifically for bikers. Let’s get into it!
What are smart glasses, and how can they be used in the future?
Smart glasses are like regular eyeglasses, but with an extra dose of futuristic awesomeness. Imagine your favorite pair of shades or prescription glasses, but with a built-in computer that can display information right in front of your eyes.
It’s like having a tiny, magical screen hovering in your field of vision, ready to assist you in all sorts of cool ways.
So, what can these smart glasses do? Well, first of all, they can connect to your smartphone or other devices using Bluetooth or Wi-Fi.
This means you can receive notifications, calls, and messages right on your glasses, without having to dig your phone out of your pocket every time it buzzes. It’s like having a personal assistant on your face!
But it doesn’t stop there. Smart glasses can also show you maps and directions, making it super convenient to navigate through unfamiliar places.
No more squinting at your phone or holding a map awkwardly in one hand while trying to find your way. The glasses overlay the directions right in front of you, so you can keep your eyes on the road or enjoy the view without getting lost.
Smart glasses are also a boon for professionals in various fields. Doctors can access patient records and vital signs in real time, making medical care more efficient and accurate.
Engineers can see diagrams and instructions while working on complex machinery, reducing the chance of errors. The possibilities are endless, and these glasses are transforming the way we work and learn.
Of course, smart glasses are still a relatively new technology, and they have their limitations. The display may not be as vibrant or high-resolution as a smartphone screen, and the battery life can be a bit of a downer. But hey, Rome wasn’t built in a day, and these glasses are evolving rapidly.
BMW made their own smart glasses?
The new BMW Motorrad ConnectedRide Smartglasses are a game-changer. They connect to your smartphone and project all the important information right in front of your eyes, so you don’t have to look down while riding.
These smart glasses may look like regular sunglasses from the outside, but they come in clear and tinted versions, perfect for any weather conditions.
They can be adjusted to fit different helmet and face shapes, ensuring a comfortable fit. You can even get the lenses customized to match your prescription glasses if needed.
With a battery life of up to 10 hours, the glasses provide continuous projection and can be easily charged via USB. The system utilizes real-time GPS data from the connected app, displaying your speed, speed limit, gear, and navigation information directly in your line of sight.
To make it work, you’ll need to have the BMW Motorrad ConnectedRide app on your phone and ride a compatible bike. It would be awesome if this technology becomes more widely available, especially for e-bikes and e-scooters.
Final Words
If you’re looking for the perfect bike to pair with your new smart glasses, BMW has got you covered with the recently launched BMW CE02.
It’s an urban electric motorbike that combines the best features of a bike and a scooter.
