So, in some of my previous posts, I’ve talked about all sorts of cool electric vehicles (EVs). You can find the links to those stories at the end of this post.

But today, I wanna chat about this awesome new car company called Ark and their latest EV, the Ark Zero. It’s gonna blow your mind, folks! Let’s dive in!

What is the Ark Zero?

Check out this cool electric car called the Ark Zero! It’s made by a London-based EV start-up called Ark Motors. The best part? It only costs £5995 (US$7,624), making it the most affordable electric car in the UK, according to British media.

The Ark Zero is designed for city driving and has a range of around 50 miles (approx. 80 kilometers). It’s perfect for getting around town. Just keep in mind that it has a top speed of 28 mph, so it’s not meant for zooming down the motorway.

This little microcar is super compact, measuring about 98.4 inches in length, 47.3 inches in width, and 64 inches in height. Its wheelbase is 67.7 inches. Despite its small size, it can comfortably fit two people and even a furry friend in the backseat, as the company claims.

While the Ark Zero is being compared to the Citroen Ami in the British media, there’s a growing trend of smaller and more affordable electric vehicles in Europe.

For example, a car-sharing provider in Italy called Enjoy is adding 100 electric microcars from a start-up called XEV to its fleet. These cars have a range of about 150 kilometers and a speed limit of 80 km/h. Renault’s Mobilize also offers microcars and more.

According to a spokesperson from Ark:

“Ark Zero is the most functional car ever built since the Ford Model T. Capitalism sold us over-engineered cars that we don’t need over the last century.

Thanks to Ark Zero, we can tackle a need in the market efficiently and affordably without giving any compromise.”

The startup has its sights set on launching an A-segment car soon, but they’re playing it coy and keeping all the juicy details under wraps for now.

In an exciting announcement, Ark Motors revealed that they will be offering autonomous ride-hailing services in London starting next year. However, there’s not much information available about this yet.

It’s clear that manufacturing autonomous technology at a low cost requires substantial financial backing, so there may be some big players involved in this venture.

The professionalism of the launch suggests that the company has the support of influential partners who prefer to keep a low profile for now.

Final Words

For now, the Ark Zero is only available for purchase online from the company’s website.

But don’t worry, Ark Motors has plans to expand to other countries in the future.

So keep an eye out for this cool little electric car hitting the streets near you!
