An Overhaul Coming to PvP In Destiny 2
The game director of Destiny 2 has revealed an overhaul strategy.

But right now, I want to dive into what the big boss of Destiny 2 had to spill about their plan to shake things up in PvP. Stick around!
Let’s dive into the Destiny 2 scoop! The PvP side of things was lacking fresh stuff, and folks were getting fed up. Sure, Bungie tweaked a few mechanics here and there, but the good stuff like new maps and loot? Few and far between.
The result? Players were starting to feel like they were stuck in a dull loop while PvE was getting all the love.
But hold onto your helmets, because it seems like Bungie’s been tuning in to the chatter. They pulled back the curtain during The Final Shape showcase last month and spilled the beans on a bunch of changes headed our way.
The upcoming Season of the Witch is rolling out with a spanking new Crucible map called Multiplex. And that’s not all, a fresh game mode, Relic, is coming in hot too. But wait for it… The grand announcement is that Destiny 2 is mustering up a dedicated strike team to supercharge content creation. Speedy updates are on the menu!
PC Gamer sat down with Destiny 2 Game Director Joe Blackburn to dish out the deets on Bungie’s game plan for the PvP zone. Turns out, when Joe hopped back on the Bungie train in 2020, things were kind of in a pickle. The Crucible felt like it was snoozing, and there weren’t many roadmaps for mixing PvE and PvP action in one game.
But guess what? Destiny 2’s got this cool vibe where you can snatch a slick gun and jump into a match pronto. So, Bungie’s rolling up its sleeves and taking a down-to-earth approach to the Crucible.
Joe dropped the news that Bungie’s not playing the “make everyone happy” game anymore. They’re tuning in on players who are all in for some PvP goodness week after week. And you know what? Now, let’s talk future plans. Brace yourselves for not just one, but two upcoming updates in Seasons 22 and 23. The Destiny 2 PvP Strike Team is all about staying on their toes. They’re not just tossing content out there and hoping for the best.
Nope, they’re listening closely to what you’re saying and shaking things up pronto when needed. And here’s the real kicker: Content’s coming at us faster than ever.
