A Rumor Suggests That Zero Build Might Be Removed From Fortnite
The popular zero-build game mode in Fortnite might be removed.

So, in some of my past stories, I’ve chatted about all kinds of Fortnite stuff, and I’ll drop the links to those at the end of this post.
But today, I’ve got some juicy gossip for you — word on the street is that Fortnite’s beloved zero-build mode might be on the chopping block!
Word on the street is that Epic Games is thinking about ditching Zero Build Mode in Fortnite. You know, that game mode that lets you focus solely on shooting your way to victory without worrying about constructing massive structures? Yep, that one.
A while back, after a ton of players were begging for it, Epic Games introduced Zero Build Mode. The deal with Zero Build Mode was that it made Fortnite feel super competitive because you didn’t have to worry about gathering resources and constructing forts in the middle of an intense shootout.
Now, here’s the latest scoop. With Fortnite Chapter 5 on the horizon, the rumor mill is buzzing that Zero Build Mode might be kicked to the curb. There’s this well-known leaker named HYPEX who spilled the beans on Twitter.
Apparently, Zero Build Mode is having a rough time running smoothly on a big chunk of the Chapter 1 map. So, it might just be tossed aside in the next update.
Epic Games hasn’t dropped the official word yet, but the Fortnite community is already buzzing about this. In HYPEX’s tweet, a bunch of players expressed their disappointment about the possibility of Zero Build Mode biting the dust.
Some of them feel like it might scare off the casual players who joined Fortnite because it was all about straightforward shooting and not complex construction.
On the flip side, you’ve got some folks who seem to be stoked about the idea of Fortnite going back to its roots, where it’s all about building. One of them even suggested it should be a “builds only” battle royale. Can you imagine that?
Now, there’s more to this Fortnite saga. HYPEX also mentioned that tactical sprinting and climbing might be disabled in Chapter 4 Season 5 and make a grand return in Chapter 5. So, that’s something to look forward to or worry about, depending on your play style.
The good news is, Fortnite Chapter 5 is supposed to drop late in 2023. So, if you’re a fan of Zero Build Mode, you’ve still got a month or two to enjoy it before it potentially becomes ancient history.
Final Words
For now, players are soaking up the nostalgia with the original Fortnite map making a comeback.
Plus, with the game running on Unreal Engine 5, you’re getting a boatload of extra details on the map.
So, you can hunt for that elusive Victory Royale with more eye candy than ever before.
Time will tell what’s in store for Zero Build Mode, but Fortnite sure knows how to keep us on our toes!
