360 degrees in deep Argentinian nature

Selected immersive spherical photos from my recent hikes in Argentina, to make you feel like you are there!

In a previous story I introduced 360-degree, a.k.a. “spherical”, photography, and how you can share it online through regular web pages that work on computers, smartphones, and even high-end VR devices. On smartphones and VR devices, by switching on the “Sensor” mode you can explore the 3D scene by moving around just as if you were sitting right where I took the photograph:

Since the time of that article, I optimized how to shoot the spherical photographs and how to prepare compatible web pages. And during my recent stay in Argentina, I had several chances to shoot nice photos. Here goes a selection, that I hope you’ll be able to enjoy at least on your phone!

For each 360 shot, I show a static snapshot and place a link that you can access to experience the immersive views. Don’t miss out at least the 3D link for the lead photo and do not hesitate to contact me if you cannot make this work or if you want help making your own spherical web views!

“Chorro de la vieja” waterfall, at ca. 3000 m.a.s.l. in the Argentinian Andes

This is the waterfall of the lead photo, around the same place where I made these photostories, in the province of Mendoza:

Here’s the 360 view of the long waterfall. If you don’t see it when you open the link, move around until you find it… it might be behind you! And don’t forget to look up!

Deep inside a forest of small trees

In Villa de Merlo, central Argentina.

Hiking upstream a small river up to a small cascade

This is in the NorthEast of the province of San Luis, where I shot a couple of photostories about wildlife in the “dry Chaco”:

Along these streams you find small pools where you can swim and refresh yourself as you hike up:

One of the many small swimming pools as you hike up this stream. View the immersive photograph at https://lucianoabriata.altervista.org/tests/panolens/ARTjan2022__water_basin_on_hike_upstream.html

And finally two spherical shots at a cascade that was in this case the endpoint of my hike. I show you an unwrapped photo because somehow it looks cool as it is!

A cascade at the end of this hike. I offer you two spherical shots: One here and one here.

And something different now: a view of the swimming pools of the hotel where I stayed. I’m not paid to promote it, but if you’d like to visit it let me know and I will share information about it:

An encore, because I find it so cool
