Flowers under the watch of the Tupungato volcano
One of the wettest summers recorded brought not only large amounts of rains and water but also bursts of blooms all around streams and rivers, as I showed you in a recent story focused on the Tunuyan river. Now join me to explore this mixed man-made/wild park by the coast of this river, from which you can see the majestuous Tupungato volcano that I show you in the lead photo.
The place is known by the name of Parque Lombardía, and it is located at the North-East corner of the small town of Tunuyán, right next to the homonymous river. The park combines wild grasses, bushes and trees, and their flowers, with those of plants strategically set by the local gardeners of the town. The result is a stunning place for recreation and contact with Nature, that I portraited here in this previous story:
But there is more than the river, the park, and the flowers. As you see in the lead photo, from this place you get great views of a volcano called Tupungato, set at the frontier between Argentina and Chile and reaching 6,570 m high. As you see in that photo, this volcano is very often covered by a thin layer of clouds. And it has snow all year round at the top, including glaciers.
Here I will not focus on the volcano, which is hard for somebody like me to access and explore. Rather, I will show you more of the flowers that grow in the park from where I shot the lead photo. Actually I left my best selection of shots for this story!
