Spiritual Attacks

3 Signs You’re Being Attacked by Forces in the Unseen Realm

Your life is not falling apart

1. A Loss of Spiritual Desire

There’s not one person who decides to get in touch with their spiritual side or get close to God who doesn’t get spiritually attacked and it intensifies just as you’re making significant progress.

The goal of any spiritual attack is to turn you away from what you’re meant to do in your life.

As you grow close in your spirituality, your soul’s purpose will be revealed to you and the enemy will see it too. When he sees your future so bright, he does everything he can to stop it from manifesting.

The enemy tries to ruin your future and it does that by drawing you away from Spirit. It does that by pretending to be a guide whispering things into your head.

When you’re under attack, you’ll find it difficult to do spiritual activities. It’ll feel impossible to connect with the universe the way you did before. You won’t feel like praying. You won’t feel like reading scripture. You won’t feel like sitting still to meditate lest God speaks to you.

Losing your desire to pray, read the Bible and meditate on it is the first warning sign of a spiritual attack, especially when you were always called to do it in the past.

But that’s the tactic of the enemy. He can’t attack when your mind is filled with the words of God. He can’t attack when you're connected with the universe. It doesn’t stand a chance when you’re constantly praying and rebuking him off, so he makes it so you don't want to do it.

When you’re not praying, you’re not protected and you're an easy target. When you’re not reading the words of God, you don’t have your double-edged sword to go to battle with.

When you're not being still, you can’t hear the universe speak to you.

A lack of spiritual desire is one of the enemy’s tactics to make you lose your connection to power so that it’s easy to attack you!

How to break free

When you find that you’re struggling to pray, meditate or read the Bible when you normally would, then there’s a problem. Don’t ignore it. The enemy will make you feel as if everything is fine. It's not!

God knew we would be attacked when we decide to draw near, but he gave us all the tools we need to fight.

The enemy is smart, but he can’t attack when you’re praying and filling your spirit with the words of God.

Prayer is your shield, and the word of God is your weapon. It is active, sharper than a double-edged sword.

Prayer, meditation, and scripture keep you filled with Spirit. If you want to overcome spiritual attacks, you have to work hard to be and stay filled with the Spirit.

The goal of any spiritual attack is to turn you away from what you’re meant to do in your life.

2. Confusion About Purpose

We are all here to fulfill a certain purpose, and that’s the highlight of our spiritual lives.

Our passion is ignited as our destinies unfold before our eyes. But under the dark cloud of a spiritual attack, the passions and purpose grow dull and life seems to lose its meaning.

The plan of the enemy during an attack is to move you outside of your purpose so you don’t get to do the things you were predestined to do. When he can confuse and distract you so you don’t follow your purpose, you’re easily manipulated.

The devil attacks the mind and begins to twist thoughts and perspectives in order to bring confusion. He tells you that you are not great enough to fulfill your purpose and the circumstances that he puts on your path will lead you to believe the lies.

Don’t believe every thought inside your head. The thing you were predestined to do is where your power lies.

In the same way, you can be led to be confused about your soul's purpose, the enemy can also pressurize you into a false purpose that would eventually lead to destruction.

Instead of your true purpose, he can lead you into a purpose that renders you weak and powerless.

We are led into our purpose. We are never pressurized into it.

How to break free

God has not given us the spirit of confusion. It’s the enemy who darkens, messes with, and confuses our minds. When you’ve found your purpose, it will be clear as day and not a single ounce of confusion will be found. You’ll know it in your heart.

When you’ve found a distraction, you’ll be confused about it.

When you’re confused about your purpose, understand what could be happening and run to God to shield you. Pray that your true purpose will be revealed to you and tell the enemy you know what he’s trying to do and rebuke him to get lost!

He can't mess up what has been predestined!

God has not given us the spirit of confusion. It’s the enemy who darkens, messes with, and confuses our minds.

2. Extreme Frustration

Your mind tends to experience a heightened level of tension during a spiritual attack that sends you spiraling into despair. You’ll have so much negative mental activity, you start to believe you’re losing your mind.

These attacks cause you to be paralyzed and defeated by your own thoughts.

But just because you think a thought doesn’t mean it’s true, but you will not think of that when you’re being attacked.

Things you thought you healed in the past will come bubbling up. Your emotions will rage and contradict what you know to be true.

You'll start thinking about the relationship that almost broke you.

You’ll know something is off, but you can’t figure out what. It’ll feel like you’re trudging along in a fog. Like you’re swimming through mud.

Old emotional wounds from the past that you thought were dealt with will resurface. You’ll start getting mad at yourself all over again for wasting your time in certain situations.

These intense emotions will attempt to dominate your life, creating friction inside your mind and all around you. This is all part of the plan of the enemy.

How to break free

Constant negative thinking opens doors for the enemy to enter your mind. Resist your thoughts.

Just because you think a thought doesn’t make it true. Capture every rebellious thought and teach it to obey you.

Don't give in to what the enemy shows or tells you. He is a master of magnification, manipulation, and illusion. Slam the door to your mind shut and stop thinking.

The more you think, the bigger the attack gets.

Meditate even if you don't feel like it. Let your mind become still, and then you will hear God’s voice reminding you of the tools you have to fight back.

Final Thoughts

When you sense a lack or lessened spiritual desire; when you’re suddenly confused about a purpose that was once clear as day; when you feel pressured into a purpose that doesn't sit right with your spirit, or when you’re extremely frustrated about your life, it could be a spiritual attack but you’ve been given all the tools you’ll ever need to fight.

You don’t have to fear or fret. The enemy wants you to fear and fret. When you're afraid during battle, you're powerless.

Don’t worry. The Spirit of God never causes you to worry. It gives you power. A strong prayer life will abort the assignments and the foul plots of the enemy.

Scripture releases much-needed wisdom and strategies. Meditation quiets your mind and allows you to hear the guidance of the Spirit of God.

All of these tools have the divine power to demolish strongholds.

Attacks will come, but if you use all the tools available to you, you will surely win the battle. Spirit and the universe already have the escape route mapped out and will lead you out of the attack and into victory.
