The orchestra of environment entertained and soothed my elevating blood pressure and racing thoughts.

Inaudible conversations hum in the background ping-ponging the walls around our cramped local coffee shop.

Sharp screeches of chairs being pulled out or pushed in break the rhythm of my fluid worry, Live-streaming in my brain waves.

I glance up from my notebook and look at a chess board of faces I don’t recognize, having strategically chosen their placement, frozen in my momentary peaceful pause.

I’ve found comfort in sitting surrounded and decorated by anonymous community neighbors.

What weighs on my mind and heart loses volume, so essential functional thought can be turned back up.

My mood is lifted by the uproarious cackle of the free movement piece four spaces to my diagonal.

The adjacent piece to my right invokes inspiration with visual focus and keystrokes attempting to break a WPM record as she studies for an exam.

The conjoined tokens set up immediately blocking backward movement have already won the game without separation or laying down in defeat. I offer symbolic congratulations in silent celebration and recognition of the strength in tactics.

Five minutes or five hours could pass, and my imaginary interactivity exercise in self-care tallies up as I develop practical skills in my mental stress.

Maybe we’re all random meeples (character players) working together when the evolving game platform keeps shifting in this Earth World.

Game over can be averted, and more challenges won with each additional live playing piece in reserve.
