You Have Great Courage
Day 70: Facing life’s challenges great and small is an act of valor

I opened the shades to let in the light. I know that the sun is somewhere behind all of that smoke. I’m going to let in that hidden sunshine, and let it shine in my heart today. Today is a new day. Yesterday I practiced letting go a little bit. I let go of everything I have no control over. I let go of the things I cannot do right now so that I have space for what I can accomplish. This week is all about surrendering, nurturing myself, and allowing some rest. I am grateful that I am on this 100-day spiritual journey, exploring the book Letting Go by David R. Hawkins.
In times of crisis, our mind will take over. It will take us into survival mode. We conserve what energy we have to survive. Yesterday, I stopped work for a while to sit in silence. I sat at my desk, sipping a cup of tea. I allowed myself to feel. I purposely sat there for a long time. The only thing I did was listen to the silence, sip my tea, and look at the pens and pencils on the desk. These moments of surrender brought back some of my energy. I can now see the enormous value of silence, surrender, and doing nothing.
The letting go mode takes us up to the level of Courage; the negative feelings have been acknowledged and worked through; consequently, they’ve lost their charge. Suddenly there is the awareness that we have the courage to face the situation, recognize our feelings, and do something about them. -David R. Hawkins

It takes great courage to let go. You need a strong spirit to sit in silence to heal. There is a time for high energy and lots of action. At the same time stillness, letting go, nurturing, and healing are paramount. This week is all about doing less and surrendering more.
Handling a crisis from the emotional rather than the intellectual level will shorten its duration dramatically. -David R. Hawkins
Facing your deep emotions without covering them up means that you have strength and courage. Sitting with your feelings is as courageous as climbing up a steep mountain. It takes determination to face how you truly feel.
My prayer and my intention for you today is that you give yourself some space to feel. Give yourself grace if it is difficult to let go. Know that you are very courageous. You are showing up for yourself. That is so brave. It takes work to face ourselves. When we do this work, we can slowly gain more energy to be who we need to be on this Earth.
What emotions are you feeling today?
