Surrendering to a Feeling
Day 69: Allowing yourself to feel through a difficult day

I usually love Mondays. They are a fresh start, a chance to create, and to share. However, today I am feeling a bit down. The smoke outside continues. I long to see a clear sky. I miss my walks outside in the garden, it’s been many days since I last communed with nature. Surrendering to this feeling of being stuck, of feeling low is something I must do today. I remind myself that it is okay to feel this way. This is part of my 100-day spiritual journey, as I explore the book Letting Go, by David R. Hawkins.
Sometimes you will feel stuck with a particular feeling. Simply surrender to the feeling of being stuck. Just let it be there, and don’t resist it. If it doesn’t disappear, see if you can let go of the feeling in bits and pieces. -David R. Hawkins.
Today my energy is a bit low. I simply don’t have the usual spring in my step. The feeling of doom and gloom outside has gotten to me a bit. Usually, I can let go of any outside circumstances, but for today I must sit with this. Surrendering to this feeling of being low is an important step in my journey. I often take constant action to feel better. Today is a day I need to stop.
The fastest way to move from the bottom to the top is by telling the truth to ourselves and to others. -David R. Hawkins

I know I cover up my true feelings by taking action. My workaholism kicks in when I don’t allow myself to feel a negative emotion. In the last few days, I have done a lot of work. I made an emergency bag, made a list in case of evacuation, organized, and cleaned the house. Sometimes we do things to feel a sense of control over our circumstances.
My prayer and my intention for you today is for you to truly feel your feelings. If you are feeling stuck, or down let yourself be there. Surrender to your feelings, and then you can start to let go a little at a time.
How do you feel today? How can you sit in those feelings?
