Being Calm in the Storm of Life
Day 66: Inner tranquility allows you to remain open

Today my spirit feels calm. Once again my ship can sail the smooth waters. Yesterday my parents were able to let go. They evacuated their home and went to stay with my aunt and uncle. My heart feels lighter now that they are safe.
Even in the middle of the chaos, we receive great gifts. I lit up with joy yesterday when I talked to my brother on the phone. It was as if time had not passed. For a while, both of us were quiet. We were both on inner journeys, learning who we are. I had faith that we would speak again. That day came for us yesterday. The most powerful thing that we talked about was the value of life. All of the things that we have in our homes is just “stuff.” It can be replaced. We can start over. My brother told me that as he was packing up, very few things defined him as a person.
I am so grateful that I am on this spiritual journey, and for what it has taught me so far. I no longer allow outer circumstances to dictate my emotions and my actions. These days, I remain calm, knowing that I can only control my reactions to events. If my heart is tranquil, I can soothe others and provide a calm place to be. This is just one of the things I have learned on my 100-day spiritual journey, exploring the book Silent Power by Stuart Wilde among his other works.
If you are solid, well-defined, and in emotional control, with a good sense of your infinite self, you have confidence that brings solidity to your energy, as distinct from the chaotic pattern that is normally projected. -Stuart Wilde
My prayer and my intention for you today is that you find the calm in your storm. You may be surrounded by chaos, but if you can stay steady, you can sail on smooth waters. Stay strong and feel the power of your heart. You will always be guided to your highest good. Know that you are loved and cared for. Have faith that all will be well.
How can you find the calm in the storm today?
