The Beauty of Accepting Life
Day 65: In acceptance you can find peace

The air is still and quiet, as smoke hangs thickly in the air. There is an eerie yellow and orange cast to the day. It is difficult to accept this day. Fires are raging all around us. People have lost their homes. My parents are still in their home, waiting it out. Their packed bags sit by the door. My heart aches for them. I can’t imagine having to leave a home that you built yourself, with your own hands. It is a home near the forest that they built before I was born.
I must know in my heart that they will make the best choice that they can when the time comes. We are here for them for anything they may need. This test of acceptance comes at the right time as I am exploring the book Silent Power by Stuart Wilde, among his other works on my 100-day spiritual journey.
Today I am grateful that the winds have stopped. If I stay in the present moment, I know all is well. It is a difficult place to be in between a mind on high alert and in the present moment. That is where I find myself right now.
Wu Wei is accepting life and not forcing it. It’s being aware of the ebb and flow of the seasons, aware of the spirituality of all things, aware that in the great abundance of the God Force there is no time. It is knowing when to act, and not acting until you know. You can wait forever if you have to, you are eternal. -Stuart Wilde
These fires are a great teacher. We have to accept them. There is nothing else to do but accept today and the next moment. The winds may change, the rain may come. All we can do is wait at times. Everyone that is preparing to evacuate is accepting that they may need to leave at any moment.
My prayer and my intention for you today is to accept life, with whatever circumstances surround you right now. Be aware that today is how it is, but tomorrow may be different. Where you are is exactly where you need to be. You will know when to take action when you accept life and trust it.
How are you accepting life today?
