Writers With Insights to This World and the Next
Real life stories from three outstanding writers
The start of the year has been a mixed blessing for me. Successful launch of my first course, Discovering Your Ikigai and some great feedback indicating I am on the right track with this. But I also ran myself down too much and got the flu last week, severely limiting my ability to produce much content. Nevertheless, it has been a great start to the year. How about you? How is your 2022 starting out?
I’m back on track with the featured writers stories, and this one brings you three women with profoundly different views of how to successfully navigate life. I hope you find Roxy Wright, Jules, and Lady Jhershierra as inspiring as I do.
Roxy Wright writes stories with solid reflections of how to learn from our mistakes and steer through life. Which always seems to have more problems than solutions. She is many pieces that make up a whole and one that seems to get more comfortable and confident with each story.
In I Built My House on Quicksand she explains the experiences that taught her never to allow her head, heart, and gut to be at odds with one another again.
Her poem, The Void, expresses the vulnerability we experience in looking for a partner that will be part of what makes us grow, and learning from the disappointment that we need to first be true to ourselves.
If I’m An Effing Rainbow doesn’t motivate you to believe in yourself, I don’t know what will. Imperfect and appearing after the storm, rainbows are close enough to inspire but not so much that we can grab them. They change with distance and angle, and so do we. You’ll find your best and your imperfections there, too. Accept your special gifts and when life has you down, shout “I’m an effing rainbow!”
jules travels a spiritual path, inspired by the likes of Louise Hay, Dr. Wayne Dyer and The Wizard of Oz. She found her course by a twist of tarot inspiration and discovering her yellow brick road. That analogy and all the adventures that come with the journey have led her to become a thought leader and distiller of lessons from everyday life.
In her story, Lessons In Intelligence From a Two-year-old, she talks about becoming more creatively intelligent by experiencing the world through the eyes of a child.
Her very first story, Who Do You Think You Are?, asked a provocative question that helps us readers focus on how we define ourselves, not based on what we do, but rather on what we desire to manifest in our lives.
Jules’ ability to inspire has taken her to new writing heights. No Place Like Home — KTHT is Returning, Details her Medium journey, with all its unusual twists and turns, and the new opportunities it is affording her. She is an up-and-coming writer to keep an eye on.
Last, but certainly not least, is Lady Jhershierra. Her story is literally out of this world. She has spent time in other dimensions, learning about astral existence far beyond my imagination. While her stories may seem unbelievable, the level of detail and universal themes of living a life of benevolence should resonate with those of you with open minds. Which is most everyone here in Medium.
In Don’t Add Without Letting Go of Something it Creates Stagnation, she talks about the need for balance and giving just as gracefully as we receive. This age old custom of sharing our gifts creates a cycle of abundance and god will that extends far beyond ourselves.
The Pure of Heart are Always Protected describes the differences between the spiritual and animal man and the conflict that exists between them in our lives. Ultimately, we must choose to live a life centered around vice and fear or turn inwards and relying solely upon the inner compass, no matter what the outside world may be doing.
Finally, The Best Career is One Where Everyone Senses the Sacred talks about the ideal that when we are doing something we are passionate about, there is an enhanced sense of contribution, collaboration and teamwork. In my ikigai course, I am working towards leading participants to a similar recognition. Being aligned with your life purpose will create opportunities to develop and become more of what you want the world to be. One of my students said this, “When I do things I love and am good at, the world is at peace. I know that what I am doing makes a difference and that makes me happy.” I couldn’t agree more.
Hope you enjoy these stories and their writers. More good stuff on the way.
