Words From An Ever-curious Writer: The Will of a Dreamweaver

A Path Through The Phantasms Of The Mind, with the ever-glorious Kendalin Jane

Welcome, my dear Readers!

Oh, what joy it brings me to make a piece utterly to a dear friend of mine; Kendalin, acquainted in those forgotten summer months now as we brace for that prolonged stage known as winter-beholden — depending on the side of the sphere you live on of course! A Dreamweaver, a remarkable soul to know is alive amongst these stars and the Asker of the Why; Oh, you go get ‘em tiger, you’ll always be seen by me.

William-Adolphe Bouguereau — Irène

Joanie: “Why Do You Write?”

Kendalin:

“Writing feels like an instinct to me — I write about most things I think about. Especially when I’m overthinking something, writing it down helps me make sense of it. When I want to remember ideas or dreams, express feelings I don’t understand, or attempt to describe something that cannot be put into words, I write. I feel much more comfortable writing than talking. It enables me to express my thoughts more intentionally.”

William-Adolphe Bouguereau — Pandore

Joanie: “What things during your day, inspire you?”

Kendalin:

“I am most inspired by things that are overlooked or taken for granted by most people. I still have a childlike sense of wonder when I notice the intricacy of a butterfly’s wings, or a gentle stream of water that contributes to a massive river. I relate to their oblivion and appreciate their often unnoticed contribution to our world. I also find sunrise and sunset to be the most reflective and inspiring times of day; they remind me of new beginnings, the passing of time, and my belief in a higher power.”

William-Adolphe Bouguereau — After the Bath

Joanie: “Dreams, what were your first impressions of them, and the possibilities they then could offer?”

Kendalin:

“Dreams, what were your first impressions of them, and the possibilities they could offer? “This is a very intense question for me, I hope you don’t mind an extensive answer. One of my earliest memories was of my grandfather. He passed away when I was two years old, but once in a while, I dream about the last time I saw him. This is the first dream I can remember; my family has confirmed it as a memory. I vividly remember my grandparents’ house; they had neon shag carpet in the bedrooms, colorful wallpaper, and a basement full of games and toys. I dream of my grandmother’s magical vanity mirror with wooden drawers that contain a multitude of perfume, cosmetics, and jewelry boxes.’

‘I dream of my grandfather’s deathbed in the corner of the living room where I said goodbye to him for the last time. I remember my brother telling me, “Say goodbye to grandpa,” and I knew it was the last time I’d see him. I can’t explain that. I was far too young to comprehend death, yet I understood this goodbye to be final. My first impression of dreams was that they allowed me to connect with the other side, even before I knew what that meant. I visit my grandparents — or rather, they visit me — in this realm often, which is still beyond my comprehension. I’ve learned that when we are open to the world of dreams, it seems to welcome us and present us with infinite possibilities.”

William-Adolphe Bouguereau — Orestes Pursued by the Furies

Joanie: “If you had the ability to control your dreams, would you? Is it daring too much?”

Kendalin:

“I think dreams are meant to be beyond our control. I am very conscious of the fact that I spend more time than I should be worrying about things that are out of my control in life and in dreams; learning to embrace such things is something I’m working on. I would not want to be in full control of my dreams, I think that would take away the magic of this mysterious realm. I do love it when I occasionally become lucid during a dream and can manipulate the environment to some extent.’

‘I usually decide to transport my spirit to a beautiful place and fly over it, but these dreams are momentary. The timelines in my dreams are always very sporadic, which I think contributes to the challenge of remembering them. I wouldn’t change anything about them even if I could. I prefer to focus on learning to interpret these messages from the unconscious”

William-Adolphe Bouguereau — Les Oreades

Joanie: “If we could connect through our dreams, either in a telepathic sense or by some new-fangled invention, how do you think that would affect us in terms of knowing a fellow living creature?”

Kendalin:

“I’ve always felt that encountering someone in a dream can be very revealing… I’ve had arguments with a lover in dreams that manifested later in the relationship. Whether that’s because I dreamed it or because dreams can be windows into the future, I’m not sure. I’ve also had heavenly dreams that inspire joy and peace in the deepest realms of my spirit.’

‘Recently I dreamed that my dog, Nori, was playing with the dog I grew up with. (She passed away when I was 15.) My mother and I were laughing together in the backyard of our old house in my hometown. I woke up with tears of joy. Dream encounters can undoubtedly influence our connections with each other. It seems to me that our subconscious will warn us about people’s intentions, and simultaneously affirm positive relationships.”

Here are we, one magical moment - such is the stuff, from where dreams are woven. — Station To Station, David Bowie.

William-Adolphe Bouguereau — The Nymphaeum

Joanie: “Have you ever had a dream you wished you could stay in forever?”

Kendalin:

“I have! While on my way to the dream world, I often imagine myself completely peaceful, floating down a clear, gentle river, surrounded by singing birds and butterflies. I usually end up falling down a waterfall (rabbit hole?) into another reality. I sometimes wish I could stay in the in-between a bit longer.”

Joanie: “If you and I ever meet in the dream world, what do you think we would do or say?”

Kendalin:

“If you and I ever meet in the dream world, what do you think we would do or say? “I think we might catch up about past lives, or reminisce about our travels. I know I have a lot to learn from you, hopefully, the inspiration is mutual! I’d definitely give you a tour of my dream world if you don’t mind a bit of inception. I imagine it would feel more like a reunion of souls than a first meeting. :)”

William-Adolphe Bouguereau — Frileuse

And there we are, me and you, in our first act of creation together, and what a start! Such a start that’ll echo through the years, I can reassure you of that, who knows where these precious threads of will and apprehension shall spout on the verges of tomorrow after the horizons of yore.

What an urge to to venture deeply within her works, the pieces I have selected here, she’ll know why I have done so, some of which made me convinced about my fellow Seer here! Ah, I remember the days, besting in the beating heart of yesterday, in that long since passed days of that summer.

Earth-time, of course, my usual suspicions of a mild nod and wink, but now, let me get out of the way and let her utter what she is, and the Journeying-soul being born before you in the mode of ideas, through the tumbling marvel of stories; whatever the form they may be… GO forth now! —SHE AWAITS.

THE PIECES I ADORE FROM HER, SO FAR:

This does my good — in all of my travelling, nothing is better than sharing an adventure — whatever compass appears, whatever sires me, nothing does it better, dear Kendalin!

No matter what I do, or become to others, my friends have always been the best part of me, and to find such a person like you, through the humbling storms all around, is truly a thing of sublime magic — start clicking your fingers to that catchy bass line; this is to you, my dear friend!

You are a dear companion to this wee sightseer, ever shall I be glad to have someone like you to ask the Whys of all.

Time takes all things away, that is the nasty habit of living and becoming, and through whatever may come your way, may the gift of creation always be there to temper you in the shade of its contrast, that being destruction.

And whenever you are, know that somewhere out there, in whatever period, in whatever guise, there shall always be a sightseer thinking of you, Kendalin.

Hold yourself well to what comes, and what must be, and remember the mere possibility it continues to offer, who knows what may be verging on tomorrow, I hope your heart remains warm and beating throughout it all.

And to quote my dear Kendalin: “Follow us for more collaborations… coming soon ;)” — that smile is on me!

So do-do that act of following her right back: Kendalin Jane Especially, for heaven’s sake if you made it this far.

Also, follow ILLUMINATION-Curators — the first I ever did that; sorry Mother!
