Whoa — look at those colours!
Hot! Hot! Hot!
These are in one of many planters outside a restaurant on the main road just over from me. It’s fab they use so many plants like this in the middle of a city. And, what a great combination of colours!

Many of the shrubs flowering at the moment have white blooms. Above left is a ceanothus — usually blue, this is a white one.
Also — above right — a white lilac. I’m seeing a theme here — plants that have been always been one colour are now appearing in white.

PupperJack completely missed seeing this cat. Thank heaven! He was below the level of the wall. That cat knew he was there, though. She and I had a moment of telepathic communication. I agreed to hurry along so PupperJack didn’t spot her, and she agreed not to hurl any silent-to-the-world, but-audible-to-PupperJack, insults at him.

Some time later — this is PupperJack — above. Cat? Wot cat?

I love that cow parsley — above left — can be found in most hedges in the city. Lovely, frothy, countryish cow parsley. Also — above right — sweet chestnuts are flowering now.
It must be a bit of a nightmare time for people who suffer with hayfever — so many blossoms flowering everywhere.

I had to walk outside of our usual haunts yesterday for a vaccine booster. These three trees were like sentinels guarding the vaccine centre. It seemed odd they had no leaves on them when everything else has, but, on closer inspection, they did look as if they were about to burst into leafiness any minute, although I don’t know what kind of trees they are.
They looked very stern against the sky.

I’m in the process of finishing an illustrated short story book in Very Large Print and the title story is about someone who collects blue and white ceramics.
It just so happens that I collect blue and white ceramics. So I’ve been messing about with it trying to compose part of the front cover picture that will include it. I have taken soooooooo many pictures so far, I might end up doing a completely different story so I use a completely different picture for the cover …

The year is warming up now — it’s nearly time to mess about on the river.
ON it. Not in it …
