Oh, no! Oh, woe! Snow! Please Go!

It makes doggo look grubby

Many of the rose bushes around the neighbourhood are bursting out with new leaves. They are just as colourful and fascinating as any flower.

Camellias are really coming into their own now.

Daffodils everywhere are ‘tossing their heads in sprightly dance’. Fab.

Here is some of the snow I’ve been wailing about. I told PupperJack he looked pawsitively grubby against the snow and he ran away in case I was thinking of giving him a bath.

(I’m not.)

Then we went out on our amble and found these three snowpeople all ready for their cruise to the Caribbean.

PupperJack says he didn’t run away because he thought Susan was going to give him a bath. He ran away from the scary snowpeople!

The scary no-face snowpeople!!!

Photo taken by neighbour; used with his permission

Next door’s pond has frogspawn in it! Yay! (It is there — honest!)

The snow, too, reminded me of this picture and then I remembered I’d written some dog-doggerel to go with it. It starts:

He loved going so fast that everything went by in a blur.

It was such a blast to feel the wind race through his fur.

Speeding along was a thrill, and always to win with never a spill produced such a big grin!

He was living the life of dreams, and the puppyish screams of delight from the young bitches was better than marrow-bone riches.

But I’d forgotten that it’s quite long so it doesn’t seem quite right to put it all in here. If you wish to read the rest of it, it’s here:

Genealogy is this doggo’s passion. He thought he’d mention it because it’s ‘National Genealogy Day’ this week.

When I first painted this picture the dogs didn’t have frames around them but then they looked like stuffed trophy heads hanging in a row.

So I had to put frames on them …

Trying to offset, at least by a teeny-tiny little bit, some of the vileness I’m seeing on social media, here we have a kitty collecting moon beams …

See you next week!
