Yay for Signs of Spring Springing!

Shoots and buds and rock ’n’ roll

The shoots (below left) will result in the flag irises (above) that PupperJack and I can look forward to seeing in May on our daily ambles.

It’s good to see the signs of spring on its way. They always have to include snowdrops.

Snowdrops symbolize hope. Their habit of flourishing after the cold winter months inspires us to endure, to keep going regardless of what comes our way.

Crocuses are shooting up — that’s the slim ones, not the fat ones — they tend to come along next month rather than this one. In the meantime, Hellebores are everywhere — they are such good flowers to have in pots and in gardens for their show so early in the year.

People are spring cleaning and the item I was tempted to pick up off a neighbour’s wall this morning was the box (above left) — I love boxes and have many … I’m proud to say that I resisted this one, though. I have to get stuff out of my house — not get more in …

Above right — tortoises are not yet due to come out of hibernation — my next door neighbour has two and they’ve not yet appeared. The two above aren’t real but that person puts them out into her garden every February so, in a way, they have come out of hibernation.

The first of the miniature daffodils has appeared, closely followed by the first camellia. All these firsts should have a wish to go with them.

PupperJack and I are getting a lot of wishes on our ambles these days.

PupperJack isn’t in to spring cleaning but he does reckon the garden needs sprucing up a bit. So he’s helping. As you can see above.

He wants to plant a pear tree.

I had the most horrendous computer meltdown in the last week. If not for the fact that I’ve paid for backup to the cloud all these years, I’d be a right hysterical mess. But I have, so at least I always knew I could get my work back again.

In the meantime, my first newsletter for quite a while went out. (All I’ve got to do now is bring them out monthly.) And a greyscale colouring book came out to join the other eight. (That’s ‘greyscale’ as against ‘traditional line art’ colouring.)

I have great plans for this year writing-wise and expect to get my novel-writing back on track forthwith!
