Clivia Lily Also Thinks it’s Spring!
Celandine Carpet, Cat Caper, Cracking Crocus Chroma!

This Clivia Lily plant in my bay window sits there quietly all year round, not complaining about my neglect — and then rewards me with these amazing buds — which I suddenly spotted yesterday when I thought I should throw some water around in there.

What an incredible colour these crocuses are! They’re in a pot outside the front of my house and come up every year to remind me that Spring will always turn up.
People can get quite outraged by celandines (above right). Outraged!
I like them. They are currently forming a lovely, sunny carpet in my back garden, greeting brighter days with much fervour.
The crocus and the celandines together create masses of positive vibes for Ukraine.

I have blackthorns planted in pots outside the front of the house — their flowers are wonderfully delicate.
Unlike the sloes that come later. Although they have their uses, too — mainly in gin.

PupperJack spent some time chastising me for not sympathising enough with him for the the barrage of insults he gets hurled at him as we’re out and about in the neighbourhood.
Just because I can’t hear it, doesn’t mean it’s not happening.
It comes from all directions.
So I made sure to snap one of the sources of this doggo-harrassment. (What a handsome cat!)
PupperJack reckoned Handsome Cat had asked him why he’d crossed the road twice. When PupperJack didn’t know why he’d crossed the road twice, Handsome Cat told him it was to prove he wasn’t a chicken!
PupperJack wasn’t too sure whether to howl with mirth or with anguish. (I wasn’t sure, either.)
So we hurried away.

Here he is — still not entirely sure whether to be amused or offended …

It was ‘National Genealogy Day’ recently and I painted a pic of a Border collie chuffed with his family history research. (He was in last week’s photo-a-day story.)
It’s been pointed out to me that corgis are just as keen on investigating their family tree. So here’s corgi-doggo exhibiting her passion for genealogy (left-hand pic above).
And then I was told corgis are always looking for a bit of royalty in their family tree. So, I obliged … (right-hand pic above)
It was also St Patrick’s Day a couple of days ago: —
“May you live as long as you want, And never want as long as you live.”
And I had a go at making my first meme.
See you next week!
