While Searching Google Trends For Ideas I Found Something I Didn’t Expect
I was doing a little research for possible story ideas and came across something I found interesting. I was comparing different topics in an area I usually write about hopelessly looking for something.
The topics I looked up were: self-help, self-esteem, self-improvement, self-care, and self-awareness.
The thing I found interesting was the difference in the number of times each one was searched.
Self-esteem was the highest, which is good, people need self-esteem. Second was self-care, also very important. Third was self-help, again something I like.
It’s obvious we all want to be happier and live a more fulfilling life. But here’s where it gets interesting.
Next on the list is self-awareness, and in last place is self-improvement.
Everyone wants to live a better life but few people are willing to look at themselves honestly. And even fewer want to put in the work to make a change.
Self-esteem and taking care of ourselves are good.
But sometimes we need to kick ourselves in the butt too.
Here is the chart I’m referencing.
