The Proud Man And His Puppet Master

Photo by Lucas Filipe on Unsplash

The proud man sat on his large leather chair looking down on the others.

He had all the power, he could decide what was done, or not done. All-day he sat around unwilling to help anyone unless it benefited him.

This upset the others, they thought he was being selfish.

He assured everyone he wasn’t being difficult. He was very principled and stuck to his beliefs, he was doing it for moral reasons.

Then the phone rang, the mean, raspy voice on the other end was his boss. He barked his orders, told him not to mess it up, and hung up.

The proud man sat there sad and defeated.

He then put on a brave face and went to face the others. He did what the man with the money said to do, like always.

He then assured everyone he was doing it for the highest moral reasons.
