UNEXPECTED LIFE LESSONS
When You See Butterflies Anywhere You Turn.
Your life is in metamorphosis. Be kind to yourself.
Photo by Ambreen Hooda, used with permission
I have been under the weather for the past few days. This morning, I was up early and ready to work on the daily revisit of my Route 66 walk. It didn’t happen. The past couple of days I wrote about the butterflies I found on the road and what I learned from it.
Butterflies are a symbol of metamorphosis and life transformations. Then I stumbled upon the above picture my daughter took when I visited her in college almost eight years ago. Coincidence? Synchronicity? Just another day in my life.
At some point during the day, I looked at my phone and saw a notification from Anita Moorjani’s YouTube channel. If you’re not familiar with her, she is the author of Dying to be Me. It’s the story of her Near Death Experience (NED). A fascinating tale of surviving stage 4 cancer with full recovery and living a vibrant life afterward.
She talked about her personal challenge of carrying on with her mission after the NED in light of the current situation and people’s reaction to her message. It’s a recording of a FB live she did a few days ago, and they are usually about an hour long. This one is about 45 minutes. I thoroughly enjoyed her message of empowerment and thought about my friend Michele Thill, who also speaks about personal empowerment when it comes to your health.
And there is a butterfly behind her.
Love yourself and you’ll automatically do what is right for you. ~ Anita Moorjani
I saw in the suggestion pane a movie titled Finding Joe, featuring Deepak Chopra, Robin Sharma, and Sir Ken Robinson. So I spent another hour and a half watching that one. It’s about the Hero’s journey and finding and living on purpose.
The story of finding the treasure is the treasure.
~ Finding Joe
I have learned that the Universe always provides what you need when you need it. Sometimes we don’t even know that’s what we need until it is there.
While I didn’t get the work I intended for the day finished, I made unexpected progress in the right direction. Also, other things happened that may seem unrelated to an onlooker, but I can see that they were related in the larger scheme of things in my life.
Here I am, partially disappointed, and partially excited about how the day turned out. I learned while walking Route 66 that I am constantly guided and directed to move in the right direction and to take the right actions. Today was another validation of that knowing/belief.
Life is a wonderful becoming, day after day.
