What WOULD Jesus Do?

I just have a lot of questions and am not looking for answers…I am just thinking about what He would do if He walked the earth at this moment in time

Introduction

So much has changed in our nation and world from the time that I initially I began writing this article many, many months ago. Back then, my mind was exclusively focused on how parents and teachers are able to establish authentic and mutual partnerships for the betterment of education. My past purpose of this story was to give readers thoughts to ponder so that they would be instrumental in helping students become stronger learners as their parents became more actively involved in their learning. Sadly, things are really different, scary, and uncertain now.

Currently, our nation is drowning in negative energy. So much devastation consumes the spirit of human beings everywhere. The well of hope that once flowed freely and quenched our body and mind has run dry. Hope has evaporated from our souls. It has disappeared like an invisible vapor. We are starving for hope.

I have faith though. The teachings about Jesus and having a relationship with Him are all about love, forgiveness, truth, hope, faith, goodness, justice, peace, and mercy sustain me. These truths have been a part of my life all my life. To me, all of these characteristics encompass His purity and goodness. But, as a nation, we have strayed far from the path, His way, that leads to these beautiful spiritual and interpersonal qualities.

Right now I have a lot of questions about what I classify as the fall of modern day humanity. I just wonder what Jesus would do if He walked in my shoes throughout the streets of the United States right now. I wonder what His response would be to the terrible conditions of our current time.

Unanswered Questions

Would Jesus be concerned about the sick and dying among us and would He miraculously heal them so that they would be able to live a happy and quality life?

Would Jesus offer assistance to the poor and resourced challenged by providing them with food if they were hungry, shelter if they were homeless, and clothing as well as shoes if they needed them?

Would Jesus link arms with those who peacefully march the streets of this nation in unity protesting the hatred that continues to resides within our borders or would He publicly chastise, intimidate, or ignore them?

Would Jesus have such a special and deep love for all children,

“the least of these”,

that He would do all that is possible to protect them?
