Inspiration
Well State of Mind (and About Being Boring)
In Well (my village in the Netherlands), life is good. But isn’t it all too boring? Thanks to Henery X, I got my answers…

Our great friend Henery X (long) is back. He hasn’t been away that long. He was planning to only read. But no. He couldn’t miss us, his readers, I think. And I’m very glad. Because he gives me inspiration.
Henery’s positive words light up the sky of Detroit.
And he asks us which place we are lighting up.
Well, my village is called Well…
A well. A source. A beginning.
A spring. A fountain of hope.
Our woods are dark at night.
The sounds of owls are piercing the black sky.
And the young foxes play… Play… Play…
We never see them, though.
More hide than seek.
Our caravan has just been painted by Mike’s able hands.
Warm red.
Shining red.
Glowing, loving, heartfelt red.
It’s our home. Temporary maybe.
We don’t know where permanent will be.
We don’t know when permanent will be.
But we flow.
A steady flow.
And life is good.
Full of love.
Full of energy.
Full of flow.

About Being Boring
But sometimes I feel so boring! Just so serious. Writing about an abundant future. About nature. About other ways of living. About purpose…
Sometimes I feel so seriously bleeeeehhhh…
I don’t want to be boring! I want to feel alive! I want the flame to go blaze. To lighten up. Not only other people’s lives, but also mine.
And then I remembered reading somewhere (can’t remember who wrote it, but one of the tagged people might recognize her words): “Would Bowie wear this? If not, it’s too boring for me, too.”
So yesterday I just listened to Bowie. This Is Not America is still my favorite. And at minute 7.58 this screen appeared.

How to Prevent Being Boring?
Medium does this for me. It gives me nudges. Associations. And the writing does the rest. It’s like reading is the pass and the writing kicks in the ball.
Goal!
- Reading got me to the point where I realized I felt boring
- Reading got me one step further to Bowie, music, and clothes
- The last step of enlightenment came today
I opened Medium, saw another piece by Henery X (long), and read it. And there it was. My solution to not being boring.
Henery gave me the answer when he said:
“I ensured that it would have a proper balance of encouragement, enlightenment, and entertainment.”
— Henery X
That’s it. More entertainment would make everything less boring. That’s what I need in my life and in my writing.
Entertainment is a waste of time when I drown in it and don’t do anything else. But it’s a necessary ingredient together with the other two: encouragement and enlightenment.
The people who read my work more often, know that I love purpose. And I write about it. How purpose can grow. How love for nature lights up your life. How caring about Gaia changes your life.
And I write about encouragement as well. How we can support each other unconditionally so everyone will shape their own puzzle piece. No judgment, no bashing. Just unconditional support.
Together we’ll make the full picture. It’s not up to me (or you or us) to judge what another person’s puzzle piece should look like.
Encouragement and enlightenment are always there in my life and in my writing. So I’ll be putting my focus on the entertainment next.
And do what Henery does as well.
“I just sit before my laptop and allow the spirit to use me. I’ve blown my mind on countless occasions.”
— Henery X
This is how it works for me, too, Henery. I don’t know how it’s happening. I don’t know what I’m doing exactly, but the writing just flows out of me.
Often I don’t even remember what I wrote yesterday, but I do remember the feeling of writing it. I can read it back and surprise myself… I like to think it’s a match between me, my passions, and the universe.
Sounds far from boring, I know. But I don’t write about it often.
I’m not religious, Henery.
And I don’t know if I’m an old soul or an empath, like Selma and Aurora Eliam, CMP (I did write about that in the story below).
But I know that feeling flow prevents my life from being boring.
So, thank you, Henery, for lightening up my day and making my writing (and my life) less boring from now on. The actions I’m gonna take:
- Focus on entertainment
- Be accepting of the fact that I’m in an alliance with the Universe, whatever that means
- And I’ll have a look through my wardrobe. See what Bowie would approve of…
Let’s see what emerges next…
Let me tag the people in Henery’s chain. I would really like to know how inspiration works for you. And how you ensure the right balance between encouragement, enlightenment, and entertainment.
And if you have any tips for me on how to make my life (and my writing) even less boring, feel free to share…
