Quintessential September Writer’s Showcase:
Welcome to our September Writer’s Quintessential Showcase — RANTFEST 2022
We asked our writers to share with you the things that really get their goat in RantFest 2022. Below they have shared their FAVORITE rants (chosen by them) so that you can binge-read their amazing posts (and hopefully, laugh, AND maybe learn).
These articles are MUST READS as selected by the authors themselves!
Read. Enjoy. And perhaps you’ll even find some new favorite authors to follow on Medium.

“Trans Rant: Transphobe Troll Throwback RantFest 2022” by KP_the_writer
I don’t understand why people get so angry and offended when others choose to live their lives without shame or apology and have the courage to share their journey.

“A Trans Rant: Needle Disposal — I have a bone to pick with a pharmacy chain that shall not be named for liability reasons” by Logan Silkwood
Fuck that. This was a place that had my prescription records on file and the staff was still treating me like an illegal drug addict. What would a police officer who had no such record think of me?

“A Disabled Artist Rant: Why does everything always feel so out of reach?” by Jymi Cliche
I live on less than minimum wage, and I’m struggling to get by on my own…Some things make me furious as if the world is just looking to make things more difficult for the disabled.

“Riot Against Wretched Reliquary: An unsent twitter rant turned poetic philippic…” by 💜 Victoria Quinn 💜
Last week, after hours of searching job listings, I was burnt out and went to Twitter to rant real quick before bed. Well, six hours later and I had the bulk of what you see here, but it was still unfinished and unsent.

“Self-Compassion is Not Laissez-Faire: It’s the complete opposite” by Sieran Lane
“Stop feeling sorry for yourself. Quit crying and do something to solve the problem instead!”… They’ve got it all wrong. Self-compassion is the opposite of laissez-faire. I’ll show you how.

“What’s Wrong With Universal Love? Apparently Everything” by CJ Nova
This outrage takes place in a public middle school in a rich suburb of Milwaukee, Wisconsin (read “idyllic enclave populated predominantly by white overprivileged pricks”).

SNEAK PEAK: October Quintessential Showcase
For October, we will be calling on our writers to share their TOP 10 Favorite Life Moments! After having a good old RantFest this month, let’s make October about reflecting on the good times. What are the ten moments in your life that stand out the most — those moments that left you filled with joy, speechless, overwhelmed in the best way… happy!? Let’s share our happiest moments from the epic to the minuscule.
QT writers — watch out for the Quintessentials on the 16th for your invitation to submit to our October showcase. Note: you DO NOT need to have your submission published with Queerly Trans nor does it need to be a new post.

From the Editor
I’M LATE! I’M LATE! FOR A VERY IMPORTANT DATE.
My bad! But I’m not going to apologize simply because, I’m human (well, that’s what I let the other humans think), and sometimes, I have to prioritize self — which is what I did this week. And prioritizing self sometimes means de-prioritizing other things, even if it is just for a day or two. There was a time I would feel immense guilt for that and I would have prioritized the expectations of others over my own mental health. It’s still a work in progress, but progress is being made. So, as they say, better late than never, right?
PUBLICATION REMINDER — ALL the Representation!
Enbyous
The non-binary publication, created and written by enbies, for enbies, genderqueer, agender, genderfuckers, gender non-conforming, and anyone else who does not prescribe to the gender binary… and our allies!
Trans Love & (A)Sexuality
Asexual/sexual perspectives from within trans & other gender expansive communities: erotica, essays, non-fiction. We can help answer each other’s questions and collectively feel less alone, while taking back our own narratives. CW: Adult content (18+); may not be safe for work.
We hope you enjoyed our fifth showcase. On the first of every month (or close to — because, what I said above, lol), we’ll share with you a new showcase of wonderful reads from our writers as selected by them. Make sure you check it out as our showcases include posts you won’t find on Queerly Trans — these are the stories our writers want you to read, the ones they know you’ll love or maybe, that you need to read.
