Weekly Haiku Roundup #001

So, one of my goals (which accidentally also became a New Year resolution) is to write one Haiku every day — And nine days in, I haven’t given up yet (yay me!). So, as the title suggests, this post is a compilation of all of my first week’s Haiku — Minus the extra text I wrote in their respective posts (Which you can peruse here).

Please do enjoy brevity in poetry and drop a suggestion, or a few, on what I can do better!

Haiku 1: Beginning

Beneath my feet, dirt,

First steps into the vast world,

Mind starts anew, fresh

Haiku 2: Vision

Thousand rays strike,

Diamonds in Roaring River,

Glittering summer dreams.

Haiku 3: Return

The seagull sleeps,

Braving rain and hurricanes,

Safe in spring’s nest.

Haiku 4: Doubt

Jump off the cliff,

Swept into the autumn gale,

Eagle’s slow first flight.

Haiku 5: Grit

The spider dauntless,

Countless webs swept in monsoon wind,

Rising to rebuild.

Haiku 6: Journey

Mighty river flows,

Summer peak to winter sea,

The Story of life.

Haiku 7: Relaxation

Hibernating bear,

Nestled away from snow storm,

Awaiting the sun.
