Summary

The provided text offers a comprehensive exploration of the concept of New Earth Consciousness, which integrates spirituality with quantum physics to present a "Spiritual Theory of Everything" that suggests the universe, including human experiences, is composed of vibrational energy waves.

Abstract

The "New Earth Consciousness" article delves into the interplay between quantum physics and spirituality, proposing that the universe is fundamentally composed of energy waves characterized by frequency, wavelength, and amplitude. It posits that everything in existence, including human consciousness, is a manifestation of these vibrational patterns. The text discusses the concept of energy waves in various contexts, such as waves of sound, light, time, and spirit, and how they form the basis of reality. It also touches upon the spiritual dimensions, the role of energy in shaping our experiences, and the idea that by understanding and altering our personal energy signatures, we can change our reality and evolve spiritually. The article emphasizes the importance of vibrations in spiritual growth and the potential to align with higher states of consciousness through practices like meditation and breathwork.

Opinions

  • The author believes in a unifying theory that bridges science and spirituality, suggesting that all existence is a vibrational wave emanating from a universal energy field.
  • There is an opinion that traditional physics, which often separates science from spirituality, is limited in its understanding of reality, and that a more holistic approach is needed.
  • The text conveys the idea that individual consciousness is capable of creating and altering reality through the manipulation of personal energy signatures.
  • It is suggested that spiritual growth and evolution involve raising one's vibrational frequency and bringing various aspects of one's being into coherence.
  • The article implies that many spiritual practices and concepts, such as chakras, auras, and the law of attraction, can be understood in terms of energy waves and their characteristics.
  • There is a belief that the universe is inherently connected, and that by understanding our own unique wave signatures, we can better understand our place within the cosmos and our connections to all that exists.
  • The author seems to endorse the idea of multiple dimensions of reality and the possibility of human consciousness ascending to higher vibrational states, such as those described in various spiritual traditions.

[1] Quantum Physics — A BRIEF INTRODUCTION

“All matter originates and exists only by virtue of a force which brings the particle of an atom to vibration and holds this most minute solar system of the atom together. We must assume behind this force the existence of a conscious and intelligent mind. This mind is the matrix of all matter.” ― Max Planck, the ‘father of quantum physics’

Quantum physics largely accepts that at the quantum level (the smallest particles we can measure), everything behaves as a wave of energy (known as Quantum Field Theory). In addition, at that level, nothing comes into existence (as a particle) until we focus on it.

“Wave–particle duality is the concept in quantum mechanics that every particle or quantum entity may be described as either a particle or a wave.” — Wikipedia

We can measure a wave as a wave (using probabilities for various parts of the wave). Or we can measure a wave as an individual particle, at which point it stops being a wave and becomes a particle.

But even then, it only exists as a less than 100% “probability”. We can say that it probably exists, but we cannot say that we are 100% sure it exists. So, the wave is a better way to describe reality than the particle.

The PBS Nova series does a good job of visually explaining “probability waves” in its episode titled, The Quantum Leap, starting at 17min 30sec into the video.

Despite that quantum conundrum, in our human experience, we accept that particles (things) exist because that is how we interpret our sensory inputs. We feel and experience physical objects as 100% real.

It does not help to deny that, as some people do. But it helps to know that the particles are an illusion and that waves are the only true physical thing in the universe. (Some physicists would disagree with that statement.)

(facebook)

Vibration is how a single particle differentiates itself from the wave energy that underlies it and which it shares with other particles. How various parts of the wave-particle vibrate is what creates the diversity of our universe. Quantum Field Theory (QFT) is the most common way of trying to describe this.

QFT is one of the oldest theories in quantum mechanics. It comprises many theories because everything in existence is a vibrational variation of a common unified field (or wave) of reality.

“QFT treats particles as excited states (also called quanta) of their underlying quantum fields, which are more fundamental than the particles.” — Wikipedia

String Theory is one of the more accepted theories that also describes wave-particles as vibrations. In String Theory…

“…a string looks just like an ordinary particle, with its mass, charge, and other properties determined by the vibrational state of the string.” — Wikipedia

Another way of looking at this is the Higgs Field, which is a form of universal Quantum Field. It permeates all physical space. The smallest particles with mass (like electrons and quarks) are formed by “excitations” or “resistance” within the wave of the Higgs Field. (Particles with no mass, such as photons, have different origins.) From those tiniest excited particles, our entire universe of people, planets, and stars comes into existence.

In addition, the Quantum Field is considered the closest thing to an absolute vacuum of nothingness. Which physicists say is the “preferred state” of the universe. (That sounds a lot like how spiritualists talk about the universe.) For more on that see:

The proposed Resonance Theory of Consciousness further extends the analogy of waves, energy, and vibrations to our consciousness and sense of awareness.

Morphic Fields is another concept that is like QFT. A Morphic Field is the memory system containing principles, information, and data that guide how a system manifests itself. All self-organizing systems (such as cells, humans, companies, cities, & ecosystem) have a Morphic Field.

As a self-organizing system, the universe has a Morphic Field, which might be the same as the Quantum Field. Many New Age spiritualists have adopted the concept of Morphic Fields, extending the idea well beyond how it Rupert Sheldrake originally theorized it.

What I call an “energy wave” is a “field” in quantum mechanics. In QFT, there are many quantum fields. Classical examples are gravitational fields, electrical fields, and magnetic fields. But there are many more non-classical fields that vary with each theory.

Each quantum field is infinite, which is why mathematicians don’t like QFT.

“When two quantum fields interact, you’d like to do a similar thing: multiply the infinite-dimensional operator for one field by the infinite-dimensional operator for the other at exactly the point in space-time where they meet. But this calculation — multiplying two infinite-dimensional objects that are infinitely close together — is difficult.” — Kevin Hartnett in Quanta Magazine

Unified Field Theories are attempts to unify different quantum fields into a single model with a single field. Such a unified field remains as elusive today as it was when the term was first invented by Albert Einstein.

This, however, is what spiritualists use to show a scientific basis for their cosmological models of reality.

Maharishi Mahesh Yogi (who had a degree in physics) often spoke of the unified quantum field as the source of all reality. He compared it to the depths of an ocean, which is uniform and silent. The diversity of manifest reality (the particles) is the ever-changing surface of the ocean. Each wave is energy creating objects. And each object is unique in time and space.

Many other spiritual teachers continue to use the ocean analogy. When we experience the diversity of forms (or particles) across our physical universe, we are on the surface of the ocean.

But our true self, which is the observer/experiencer, is our pure state of awareness or consciousness. That is like the bottom of the ocean or a unified field. In meditation, we can sometimes completely silence the waves (especially thoughts) and become the unified quantum field of pure consciousness.

Cosmic Consciousness (Maharishi’s first stage of enlightenment) is when the unified field is present in our awareness at the same time as manifest reality. (See also how Deepak Chopra, a former TM teacher, connects Cosmic Consciousness to physics.)

Surface and deep water particles. by Kraaiennest (Wikipedia, cc-by-sa)

The thing is the ocean is an analogy. What we theorize in quantum physics are quasi-mathematical models that are difficult to explain in simple language. Instead, we use analogies like oceans and waves.

But that difficulty does not stop many New Age spiritualists from using quantum physics to support their ideas about reality (sometimes called ‘quantum mysticism’). And many people accept those ideas and explanations.

I am not interested in exploring the depths of quantum theories. There are some physicists who embrace spiritual analogies with quantum theories. But many others chafe at what they see as non-scientific appropriations of true science.

Instead, I explore how New Age spirituality uses waves, energy, and vibrations to describe and understand our universe.

[2] Lower & Higher, Slower & Faster — A THEORY OF EVERYTHING

“You cannot trust your physical senses to give you a true picture of reality. They are lovely liars, with such a fantastic tale to tell that you believe it without question.” — Seth/Jane Roberts, Seth Speaks, part one, chapter 1, session 511, on January 21, 1970

Physics and spirituality share the fundamental goal of finding a uniform truth that explains all of reality. Physics calls this the Theory of Everything, which is even more comprehensive than Unified Field Theory/QFT. The main goal of theoretical physics today is to integrate QFT (the smallest things in existence) with Einstein’s Theory of Relativity (the largest things in the universe), as in this discussion on YouTube.

If found, the physics Theory of Everything will explain how reality works at all levels of our physical universe, from the smallest quantum to the largest galaxy clusters. (String Theory and Quantum Gravity Theory seem to come closest to that. But they are far from proven at this time.)

by David Goehring (Flicker.com, cc-by)

In spirituality, we use Truth or Absolute Truth for anything that applies to all situations and at all scales (or dimensions). That is the spiritual equal of a Theory of Everything. Philosophers call that Universalism.

Seeing everything as energy is a commonly accepted Theory of Everything that applies to both physics and spirituality. For example, in a 1948 movie, Albert Einstein said:

“It followed from the special theory of relativity that mass and energy are both but different manifestations of the same thing — a somewhat unfamiliar conception for the average mind.” — Albert Einstein, Atomic Physics (1948 film)

May theoretical physicist (including Einstein) cross over to the spiritual side when trying to explain how they understand reality. For example:

“In this way, our lives on this plane of existence are encompassed, surrounded, by the afterworld already … The body dies but the spiritual quantum field continues. In this way, I am immortal.” — Dr. Hans-Peter Dürr, former head of the Max Planck Institute for Physics

Most New Age spiritualists accept as an Absolute Truth the idea that all forms are the manifestations of a universal energy. (Traditionally, it was known as the etheric field or plane, but that term is less common today.)

“It’s all vibration” (as in the short ‘Law of Vibration’ article, below). Variations in the frequencies and wavelengths of that energy underlie all our experiences, both physical and non-physical.

[2.1] Entropy as Universal Stillness

One aspect that is seldom mentioned, even in the article linked above, is that the universal vibration of energy that is everything exists against a background of universal stillness. We may not experience that stillness, but we cannot know motion/vibration without its existence.

That background is like a box that contains all energy/vibration/motion. In spiritual terms, that stillness is God/Source/The Absolute which exists beyond all manifest and phenomenal (experiential) forms. And it is the source of all manifest reality.

When our mind is quiet and still, it is approaching that universal stillness.

“Everything that’s created comes out of silence. Your thoughts emerge from the nothingness of silence. Your words come out of this void. Your very essence emerged from emptiness. All creativity requires some stillness.” — Wayne Dyer

Even physics suggests stillness is the natural state of the universe. There is a tendency for all energy concentrations to dissipate over time to a state of entropy. They gradually lose their internal structure and orderliness and become a blob of maximum disorder, chaos, uncertainty, and randomness.

Spiritually, this happens when we remove our attention and focus on an object. We forget it exists, and it fades back into the universal energy wave. We have permanently lost much of human history because of the entropy of memory. (Note that nothing is lost permanently if some memory or energy of it exists somewhere.)

The 2nd Law of Thermodynamics says that entropy is the natural state of the universe. The mystery is why order exists (or why anything exists). Creating “order” means creating and maintaining things from the background of disorder. Increasing “order” is what we call evolution, expansion, or growth. “Order” is also called “information” (in some quantum physics theories) and “intelligence” (or “Sat” in Hinduism).

[2.2] Mechanical (Sound), Electromagnetic (Light), Time, & Spirit Waves

The “Universal Energy Wave” underlies and vibrates, giving rise to all manifest creation. We also call that wave the “Quantum Field”, the “Universal Soul”, and the “Universal Mind”.

Some people use the word “Spirit” to refer to the energy wave the underlies all creation. It is what exists prior to the Soul. (Note that others use “spirit” to mean “non-physical dimensions of reality”, usually the 6th Dimension and higher.)

I suggest that there are 4 main types of energy waves that arise from the universal one. All other waves are a form of these 4.

  1. Mechanical Waves (such as sound waves)
  2. Electromagnetic Waves (such as light & radio waves)
  3. Time Waves (such as our annual solar cycle)
  4. Spirit Waves (such as incarnations & ascension)

1-Mechanical Waves

Christianity and Hinduism describe “sound” as the start of creation. “In the beginning was the word” (John 1:1 in the New Testament Bible), and the sound “Om” (or “Aum”) in South Asia. Many see references to the “word” and “Om” are metaphors for the vibration that enlivens the silent void of All-That-Is (or Source).

“The word” is a metaphor for sound energy. Sound is at the low end of the vibrational spectrum. We call it a “mechanical wave” because it moves physical objects. Other mechanical waves include ocean waves and tides, music and speech, and wind and weather patterns.

Sound/music was the first vibration of the universe. Because of that, music can be used to both understand the universe (feeling sound vibrations) and change the universe (generating sound vibrations). It may be the only modality (method) that affects all beings, even those with hearing impairments. That is why music is so universally appreciated.

Gravity Waves are how the force of gravity seeks equilibrium between two different things, such as the atmosphere and the oceans. They exist from the quantum level for the smallest particle to the galactic level where clusters of galaxies exert gravity on other clusters. That is why some theoretical physicists see them as a physics Theory of Everything.

2-Electromagnetic Waves

In Genesis 1:3, God created “light”. Prior to that, the Earth was “formless”. It became a form (or object) with the creation of light. Spiritualists say that the creation of light was the creation of consciousness. Consciousness (light) and form (sound) coming together resulted in the “Big Bang” of creation, according to some beliefs.

In the beginning, as the original (sound) energy increased in frequency, it created light. “Light” is what we call vibrational energy when it reaches a frequency (speed) that puts it at the edge of a dimension. For example, the speed of light is the outer boundary of our 3rd Dimension. This makes “light” faster in higher dimensions and slower in lower dimensions. (That is the theory, at least.)

Notice the very narrow band that is “VISIBLE” light. Click image to enlarge. (by AdvancedPhotonSource, Flicker.com, cc-by-nc-sa)

(Vibration & Frequency)

We often use the words “vibration” and “frequency” interchangeably in spiritual and general discussions. Vibration is a broader, less specific term for the energy of the universe. Everything vibrates, and if we are sensitive enough, we can feel that vibration and how it differs from one thing to another.

Frequency is a more specific and often measurable term for vibration. When we want to compare vibrations carefully, it is better to use frequencies, such as in the electromagnetic spectrum diagram above.

(Sound & Light Waves)

Sound energy (mechanical waves) and light energy (electromagnetic waves) are two forms of vibrating energy that are similar but different. Einstein’s famous equation (E=MC2) shows how they relate. E = energy (vibration), M = mass (sound), and C = speed of light.

While rare, sound / mechanical waves can transform into light / electromagnetic waves in our 3D experience. This happens in nature through “sonoluminescence” and has been done in labs by increasing sound frequencies to extremely high levels.

According to Matias De Stefano (see this YouTube introduction), light is the basis of geometric shapes. I believe that is because light has photon particles that can move from one point to another, creating lines. (Sound has no such particles.) Lines create geometric shapes, and those shapes replicate to create the forms we experience across all dimensions (including beings, objects, thoughts, and emotions).

So, the stages of creation are Vibration (Sound) > Energy > Light > Geometry > Forms. He says that we fill the empty geometric shapes/forms with our beliefs/understandings and imagination. That is how we create our own realities. (Elsewhere, he aligns Vibration with our Mental/Causal Body and Energy with our Emotional/Astral Body. Light, Geometry, and Forms are all aspects of our Physical Body and material world.)

3-Time Waves

Waves associated with “time” are another fundamental type. We usually refer to “time waves” as cycles or rhythms. They have similar characteristics to other waves. Types of time waves include our 24-hour diurnal rhythm, monthly lunar cycles, annual solar cycles, life cycles, and biorhythms (see section 4.2, below), among many others. Those are all 3rd Dimension (3D) time waves.

Time is different in other dimensions. Higher dimensions are called that in part because their overall wave frequency (speed) is faster. A dimension that is 10x faster than our 3D Earth can accomplish 10x as much as we could in the same equivalent time. Conversely, the life of a 1st Dimension rock is much longer than that of 3D life forms.

Time is also more flexible and changeable in higher dimensions, and more rigid in lower dimensions.

4-Spirit Waves

A fourth type of energy wave that we experience is what I call the Spirit Wave. It might be a type of time wave, but it applies more to our broader and higher dimensional soul and is more fluid than the time waves described above. In the Bhagavad Gita, Lord Krishna refers to this as “The Wheel of Creation”.

The spirit wave includes our cycle of incarnations and evolution through many lifetimes and dimensions of reality. Those are part of the ultimate spirit cycle/wave, which is our emergence from Source into the 1st Dimension; our evolving through all the dimensions; and then our merging back into Source to start the cycle over again.

Spiritual energy is also a spirit wave. This includes qi (in China), ki (in Japan), and kundalini (in India), as well as our auras. There are other versions of such energy waves in other parts of the world.

[Note: I created the term “Spirit Waves”. This is not a concept that I have seen before. If you know of anything similar on this topic, please let me know. Thanks.]

[2.3] Physics & Spirituality

“I like to experience the universe as one harmonious whole. Every cell has life. Matter, too, has life; it is energy solidified.” — Albert Einstein

“Science cannot solve the ultimate mystery of nature. And that is because, in the last analysis, we ourselves are a part of the mystery that we are trying to solve.” ― Max Planck, in ‘Where is Science Going?’

Vibration is the energy of the universe. It is the universal energy wave that underlies and drives all creation. We sometimes call it the “wave of the mind”. It both creates diversity (different frequencies) and holds it all in oneness (a single wave of energy).

From the universal vibration, sound/mechanical waves arise, light waves arise, time waves arise, and spirit waves arise.

See my separate article specifically on time as an energy wave. It is a follow-up to this article:

Since at least the 1800s, Hinduism has had a significant impact on New Thought and New Age beliefs in the West. The Hindu teaching that comes closest to a “Theory of Everything” is Sat-Chit-Ananda.

Sat is Absolute Truth (God or Source), Chit is Consciousness or Awareness, and Ananda is Happiness or Bliss (the Energy of Love). These 3 aspects are required for anything to exist in the universe. There must be a knower, the ability to know, and something to know.

Ananda (love) is the energy that vibrates the phenomenal (experiential) universe into being. It does that through contracting and expanding waves of energy. Those waves are what Sat (Source) is Chit (conscious of). Because, according to some, we are fractals of Source/God, those waves are what we are also conscious of.

The energy of love drives the diversity of forms in our awareness, which includes us (our body, mind, and ego).

In the 3rd Dimension, everything feels separate from everything else. When we overcome that separation and feel connected or “one” with something else (anything will do), we feel love. After experiencing the depths of 3D separation, being in oneness/love is like “Heaven on Earth”. It is what spiritual awakening and enlightenment are all about.

“The universe actively loves itself and all of its parts. The world loves itself and all of its parts. It is not true that energy is neutral or indifferent. Energy is active, positive, propelled by what can almost be called an instantaneous pleasure with itself and its characteristics. Despite all concepts to the contrary, energy is, indeed at its basis, love. It is also composed of highly charged consciousness that operates almost in a leapfrog fashion, with brilliant bursts of exuberance and vitality. The great, the greatest, creative force (that force that is the origin for all physical life) did not suddenly appear once in some distant past, sparking the birth of your reality, endowing it with an energy that could only then run down or dissipate. Instead, ever-new virgin energy, so to speak, is created constantly and appears at every conceivable point within your universal system.” — Seth/Jane Roberts, The Way Toward Health, chapter 3, session on March 20, 1984 (bold added by me)

More recent New Age teachings bring these ideas closer to those of quantum physics. For example, Bashar (channeled by Darryl Anka) said:

“Everything is energy, and that’s all there is to it. Match the frequency of the reality you want, and you cannot help but get that reality. It can be no other way. This is not philosophy. This is physics.” — Bashar/Darryl Anka, The Ides of March, 1996 (note: this quote is often mis-attributed to Albert Einstein on Facebook memes)

Another version of Bashar, channeled by Andrew Bayuk in the 1980s, calls Source/God/All-That-Is the “prime frequency” of all creation (on YouTube). Individuality is a variation from the prime frequency.

Variations in energy waves define differences between objects, beings, entities, and spiritual dimensions. Bashar/Andrew Bayuk goes on to say (in the recording linked above) that beliefs are the main way we deviate from the prime frequency to create our individual frequencies.

To experience and communicate across spiritual dimensions requires resonating with the other’s energy frequencies.

On this, Seth (channeled by Jane Roberts) said:

“These environments may appear distorted to you, but the distortion is usually your own and not that of the environment. Vast differences of magnetic vibrations are concerned here and projecting it will be difficult for you to maintain the steadiness necessary to hold to the necessary vibrations to which others, inhabitants of the systems, will be more or less automatically attuned (as you are automatically attuned to the physical system).” — Seth/Jane Roberts, The Early Sessions, Book 7, Session 328. March 22, 1967

Spiritual Dimensions are sometimes said to all exist at the same time and occupy the same space. (An energy wave’s “frequency” creates time and its “wavelength” creates space.) Differences between the dimensions are kind of like the difference between experiencing something while drunk and while sober.

But dimensional differences are much greater than that. Each is occurring at distinct vibrations of energy. That gives them a very different perspective, view, and understanding of the same shared reality (or shared wave form).

In my article on the Spiritual Dimensions of Reality, I summarized the many ideas people have on this topic:

Each dimension of reality has a distinct set of laws that governs what can and cannot be done by an individual soul or consciousness that is in that dimension.

Overall, LOWER DIMENSIONS are typically described as being dense, heavy, rigid, complex, hidden and narrowly focused, having lower vibrations or energies, and a greater sense of individuality and separation. (We humans tend to look at them as negative or bad, though that is not true.)

HIGHER DIMENSIONS are described as being light, transparent, flexible, less complex, more broadly encompassing, having higher frequency vibrations, and an increasing sense of universal oneness and less individuality. (And humans tend to think of them as “heaven”.)

In short, Higher Dimensions have shorter (higher energy) wavelengths, and Lower Dimensions have longer (lower energy) wavelengths than our 3rd Dimension. To experience other beings and universes, we need to learn to shift our personal wavelength. We usually do this with our Astral/Mental Body through meditation, prayer, breathwork, sound work, Qigong, and other spiritual practices.

“All being is manifestation of energy — an emotional manifestation of energy. … The manifestations of physical energy follow emotional rhythms that cannot be ascertained with gadgets or instruments, however fine.” — Seth/Jane Roberts, The Individual and the Nature of Mass Events, chapter 3, session 817 on January 30, 1978

and

“In your system of reality, you are learning what mental energy is, and how to use it. You do this by constantly transforming your thoughts and emotions into physical form. You are supposed to get a clear picture of your inner development by perceiving the exterior environment. What seems to be a perception, an objective concrete event independent from you, is instead the materialization of your own inner emotions, energy, and mental environment.” — Seth/Jane Roberts (1970) The Seth Material

But what do we mean by vibrations, frequencies, and wavelengths?

[3] Frequency, Wavelength, & Amplitude — VIBRATION BASICS

“There is no difference between the energy that shapes your ideas and the energy that grows a flower or that heals your finger if you burn it. “ — Seth/Jane Roberts, ‘The Nature of Personal Reality’, session 630 on December 11, 1972.12

When spiritualists talk about vibrations, they assume that everyone knows what they mean. They also assume that the vibrations of physics also apply to spiritual realities. They see these vibrations as the basic building blocks used by Source / God / All-That-Is to create everything.

Thus, vibrations, energy, and waves are elements of a Spiritual Theory of Everything.

It is hard to prove whether this is true. But many people accept it as an Absolute Truth. Thus, knowing the physical science characteristics of waves can help us understand how to apply them in spirituality. That is what I will attempt to do here.

Figure 1. Wave Properties : (1) Peak Amplitude, (2) Peak-to-Peak Amplitude, (3) Root Mean Square Amplitude, (4) Wavelength or Wave Period — by Matthias Krüger (Wikipedia, CC0)

In the physical world, which is the focus of physics, energy moves through space in a wave-like manner. A wave is a simplification of the actual pattern, but it works well enough as an analogy.

There are 3 principal ways of measuring the vibrational pattern of an energy wave. These are Frequency (speed-time), Wavelength (length-space), and Amplitude (power-stability).

Spiritualists equate these to the characteristics of Higher and Lower dimensions, as described in the previous section.

  1. Frequency (speed-time) is the number of wave cycles that pass through a point in each second of time (Hz = wave cycles per second). This is how fast the wave (the red line in Fig. 1) moves one full cycle (or wave pulse) from its start (0) to its endpoint (near t) on the equilibrium line in the diagram above. It is also how fast a Longitudinal Wave moves from compression to expansion (as in Fig. 2, A & B, below). SPIRITUALITY: Faster Frequency Energies …Are Higher Dimensions and Higher Beings — Move and Change Faster — Are in the Future (lower frequencies are in the Past)
  2. Wavelength (length-space) is the distance between the same point on a wave cycle, such as from peak(+) to peak(+) or trough(-) to trough(+). This is shown as (4) in Fig. 1 above. It is also known as a “wave pulse” when measured from rest to rest on the equilibrium line. Everything is constantly cycling through a peak(+) and trough(-). And it is the distance between compressions in a Longitudinal Wave (see Fig. 2, A & B, below). Shorter Wavelengths usually have Higher Frequencies. SPIRITUALITY: Shorter Wavelength Energies …Are more Connected to Source/God/All-That-Is because they Cross the Equilibrium more often — Are Higher States of Consciousness — Experience More Diversity and Reality Changes than longer wavelength energies
  3. Amplitude (power-stability) is the furthest distance the wave reaches from its baseline or reference equilibrium (stability) to its peaks(+) or troughs(-). In Fig 1 above, the (1) is the Peak Amplitude, and the (2) is the Peak-to-Peak Amplitude (or Wave Height). It is also the degree of compression/contraction in a Longitudinal wave (see Fig 2, A & B, below). SPIRITUALITY: Larger Amplitude Energies … —Have More Power to Create, Evolve, and Change Realities/Universes — But also have More Responsibilities, Challenges, and Potential Instabilities to deal with — Experience Higher Highs (confidence, ecstasy, bliss, oneness, positive energy) and Lower Lows (doubt, depression, ego separation, negative energy) than smaller amplitude energies (note that positive & negative are not “good” and “bad”, they are just energies)
  4. Equilibrium (origin-balance) is one other key element of an energy wave. It is the point of balance or transition as a wave moves between its peak(+) and trough(-). We also known it as the Rest Point. SPIRITUALITY: Equilibrium Energies …Are our Connection to our Deepest Self, which includes our soul, higher self, and God/Source — Transcend (goes beyond) Manifest or Phenomenal Reality — Are the Experience (or being) of Equanimity, Unconditional Love, Awakening, Self-Realization, and Enlightenment

Time (frequency), space (wavelength), and amplitude (strength) are all required for a 3D form (physical or nonphysical) to exist in our manifest reality. If these are all brought to a zero “0” energy level, nothing would exist. There would be a pure, silent, empty void.

The Zero-Energy Universe Theory in physics states just that. The void is the true nature of our universe if it were not for the ripples in the energy wave balance. New Age spiritualists say that those ripples, which include us, are an illusion.

This table summarizes these three core characteristics and other aspects of energy waves. New Age Spiritual equivalents of these concepts are also suggested.

[3.1] Cycles & Circles

An important concept that is not focused on in wave mechanics is cycles. A cycle is a combination of frequency, wavelength, and amplitude moving around an equilibrium center point.

We, of course, have many cycles, such as lunar, seasonal, life, business, and astrological.

Because everything is a vibrating wave of energy, then everything also exists as a cycle.

Many cycles take the form of circles, which are common throughout the universe. The Wheel of Time (or Wheel of History) is a time cycle/circle that is found in South Asian and Native American spiritual traditions, for example. (See also the ocean wave figure in section [1] for how a water particle cycles through the energy wave.)

“Everything the Power of the World does is done in a circle. The sky is round, and I have heard that the earth is round like a ball, and so are all the stars.

The wind, in its greatest power, whirls. Birds make their nest in circles, for theirs is the same religion as ours. The sun comes forth and goes down again in a circle. The moon does the same and both are round. Even the seasons form a great circle in their changing, and always come back again to where they were.

The life of a man is a circle from childhood to childhood, and so it is in everything where power moves.” — Black Elk (1863–1950)

[3.2] The 4 Elemental Energies

Greece, India, and Tibet historically used The 4 Elements to understand the physical nature our world: Earth, Water, Fire, and Air. We also know these as the “classical elements”, and we associate them with the lower 4 Chakras of the body.

Vibrations of the aetheric field create these 4 elements and are said to come from the upper 3 Chakras. The 4 Elements describe how that energy wave/field vibrates frequencies in positive(+) and negative(-) ways.

The 3 upper chakras describe 3 non-physical levels of the energy wave/field: Aether, Consciousness, and Oneness. Aether (or Ether) was added to the classical elements in later time periods as a 5th Element (some believe it is physical, but most do not). (Consciousness and Oneness are my terms and I am open to suggestions for other names for these.)

  1. Earth Element — Root Chakra — vibrating Compressed Energy — slowest frequency, negative (-) polarity — heavy, dense, grounded, and secure energies, bringing/holding everything together, manifesting in physical reality (more concentrated than Water)
  2. Water Element — Sacral Chakra — vibrating Receptive Energy — slower frequency, negative (-) polarity — receiving, downward, filling, nurturing, flowing, learning/knowledge, and accepting/allowing energies (more open & flowing than Earth)
  3. Fire Element — Solar Plexus Chakra — vibrating Radiant Energy —faster frequency, positive (+) polarity — rising upward, expressing purpose, activating/energizing, and outward energies (more directed than Air)
  4. Air Element — Heart Chakra — vibrating Expansive Energy — fastest frequency, positive (+) polarity, most subtle & lightest vibration — expanding in all directions, enlarging into space (more diffuse than Fire), flowing and integrating/merging (like the wind, unrestricted, into spaces not accessible to water)
  5. Aether Element — Throat Chakra — vibrating Energy Amplitude — amplitude determines the strength/power of material presence through Universal Sound waves/cycles —Source energy vibrating from the Throat Chakra (our physical vibration/sound organ) and expressing the lower 4 Chakra Elements in ways unique for each being; when silent (0 amplitude), it is the spacious awareness containing all manifest reality, also known as love
  6. Consciousness — Third Eye Chakra — vibrating Energy Wavelength — wavelength determines variations in Universal Light waves/cycles, which are the basis of higher dimensional beings and spirit guidesthe pure vibration of intelligence behind and aware of the 5 Chakra Elements (including Aether)
  7. Oneness — Crown Chakra — vibrating Energy Frequency — frequency determines the spiritual dimension and level of consciousness and understanding, which drives Universal Spirit waves/cycles from the point of Equilibrium — unity in the pure energy of Source; the beingness before and beyond the 5 Chakra Elements and Consciousness

We feel our lower 4 Chakras as energy/vibration. We interpret those energies as emotions. Stuckness or blockages in the lower 4 Chakras usually refers to unresolved emotional issues and traumas.

There is a gradual transition from one Elemental Energy/Chakra to the next, moving from slower to higher frequencies, and then transcending the physical frequencies to the non-physical levels. (Note that the non-physical levels of #7-Oneness, #6-Consciousness, and #5-Aether equate, respectively, to the Hindu teaching of Sat, Chit, and Ananda.)

How we recognize the differences between these levels depends on the sensitive of our Third Eye Chakra. This is where we center our conscious awareness and thinking most of the time (in our brain). Some people do not notice any differences between the Chakras. Others notice more than 4 areas of emotional feeling.

(I based much of this section on “The 4 Elemental Energies” on Lincoln Gergar’s teachings [YouTube link]. I expanded upon that with additional information from other sources and my guides.)

[3.3] The 7 Laws of the Universe

Matias De Stefano describes The 7 Laws of the Universe based on what he remembers of his past incarnations in Atlantis (12,000 years ago) and in the Sirius star system (long before that). He says these laws enabled all creation and apply to all dimensions of creation. I include them here because all but the first two build on the energy vibration of the universe.

  1. Law of Mentalism — Everything in the universe is a creation of the mind; we create our own reality; this is the most fundamental law because we created the remaining 6 laws from our mind
  2. Law of Correspondence—Everything in the universe that is outside of us is a perfect reflection of what is inside of us, and vice versa
  3. Law of Vibration Everything in the universe is vibration or frequency (pitch); this is how we work with mentalism and correspondence
  4. Law of Rhythm All vibrations in the universe have a rhythm (wavelength / cycle) moving from high to low, or inside to outside; everything moves through a balanced rhythmic cycle, like the tides and day/night; this is how we work with vibration; Heart chakra
  5. Law of Cause & Effect The high or low vibrations we put out into the universe will return to us at the same level of high or low; this is because of the ‘conservation of energy’; Solar Plexus chakra
  6. Law of PolarityAll vibrations in the universe have a positive (+) and negative (-) polarity (amplitude/strength); this is how the universe evolves and ascends; Sacral chakra — #4, #5, & #6 are the basis for the simple definition of karma. Any action that we do (good/+ or bad/-) is a cause and the effect will cycle back to us in such a way as to balance perfectly the polarity (bad/- or good/+).
  7. Law of GenerationBecause of the “conservation of energy”, Nothing in the universe is ever destroyed it is just transformed into something new; and because of the infinite expansion of the universe, the new is always better (although that might not be apparent at first)

I have always heard that because of the infinite nature of the universe, there are very few “laws” that apply to everything. But I think these laws do because they (#2 to #7, at least) are vibrational characteristics of the energy waves that are the basis of all reality.

For more on Matias De Stefano, see:

[4] Why You Are Unique — WAVE SIGNATURES

Vibration is how a single object exhibits the frequency, wavelength, and amplitude of the energy wave underlying it.

As Bashar/Darryl Anka noted earlier above, each dimensional reality is a different vibration. Similarly, Drunvalo Melchizedek says that each spiritual dimension has a distinct overall wavelength. He says that our 3rd Dimensional universe has an average wavelength of 7.23 cm, which is the background energy found throughout our planet. Unfortunately, I could not confirm that number anywhere else.

Figure 2. Quantum Harmonic Oscillations — by Sbyrnes321 (Wikipedia, CC0); A & B are Longitudinal Waves, C & D are simple Transverse or Sine Waves, the others are more complex wave signatures

He also says that every object in each dimension of the universe has its own unique “sine wave signature” (complex wave pattern). Again, I could not confirm that claim, although the (G) and (H) patterns in Figure 2, are like what he describes. (See Wikipedia for other unusual wave patterns.)

Many other spiritualists agree that each object in our reality has a unique vibration. That vibration reflects the combined vibration of the particles that make up the object in question. Bashar/Andrew Bayuk says that we each have a distinct “primary frequency” (or “primary belief”) that defines our individuality and the reality we experience. We can change our primary frequency/belief and change our reality/experience.

I previously mentioned that frequency, wavelength, and amplitude together form a “cycle”. Because of that, everything in existence flows through cycles at different speeds, lengths, and strengths. And we flow through complex sets of cycles overlapping other cycles, and cycles moving within and beyond other cycles.

Cycles are another consideration in looking at wave signatures. Nothing is static. Everything is in a constant state of change, cycling through polarities. And even those cycles change from one to the next.

So, what we see as a wave signature is a snapshot of one being or entity at a single point in their cycle of existence (their Spirit Wave Cycle).

  • This ⬇️ article describes an interesting study of 800 people showing how they improved their cognitive skills and learning after being briefly exposed (1.5 seconds) to their individual and unique Alpha brainwave pattern (effectively resetting their brainwaves). The effect lasted several days:

“All-That-Is vibrates with desire. The denial of desire will bring you only listlessness. Those who deny desire are the most smitten by it. Each of your lives are miniature and yet gigantic episodes, mortal and immortal at once, providing experiences that you form meaningfully, opening up dimensions of reality available to no one else, for no one can view existence from your standpoint. No one can be you but you. There are communications at other levels, but your experience of existence is completely original, to be treasured.” — Seth/Jane Roberts, The Nature of the Psyche, session 800, April 4, 1977

[4.1] Common Examples of Wave Signatures

Wave Signatures are combinations of waves that work together to create a distinct pattern. They are an effective way of determining the diversity of much of our universe. The most common forms of these include: — Acoustic or Audio Sound SignaturesSpectral, Spectra, or Light SignaturesBrain Wave Signatures

Audio Sound Signatures are how we adjust the base, middle, and treble tones for different music to suit our preferences. — New Age Sound Healing and binaural sounds go further to create complex sound signatures based on frequencies, harmonics, and overtones (notes between notes). These evoke meditative, relaxing, healing, and other physical and mental states in people, animals, and plants.

Spectral Light Signatures are how scientists determine the chemical makeup of a distant star from the light it emits. — New Age Light and Color Systems use the different frequencies of the color spectrum to revitalize, balance, and heal physical and mental conditions. They often use lights and crystals, working on the chakra energy centers of our body.

Brain Wave Signatures are how various parts of brain activate when we do things. These overall brain wave patterns are unique for everyone. This is a relatively new and complex area of research. — Meditation Brain Wave Studies have supported New Age beliefs about energy and vibration. For example, advanced meditators have more beneficial brain wave activity than non-meditators, both while meditating and outside of meditation. Sound waves and Lightwaves also affect our brain wave signatures, along with a lot of other things.

⬇️ Elan refers to these as “signature vibrations”, which he describes in this short audio clip. Elan is an Essessani ET channeled by Andrew Bayuk in the 1980s and 90s. As noted in the article above, Andrew occasionally channeled Bashar, another Essessani.

[4.2] What is Your Wave Signature?

Everyone I meet is an energy being just like me, coming from the same energy source, but manifesting in a slightly different vibration. — based on Elan (channeled by Andrew Bayuk)

We operate within a range of frequencies that feel comfortable for us. When we are in a noticeably higher/faster frequency range than our normal baseline, we are more connected to angels, spirit guides, or just our intuition. When we are in a noticeably lower/slower frequency state of consciousness, we are interacting with more of our shadows.

Our baseline range of frequencies is where we measure higher/faster and lower/slower. It is also where we return to integrate what we have experienced and learned in those other states of consciousness.

Our baseline is also our Wave Signature. It is the vibration that we exhibit to the world. It is actually a combination of energy waves and cycles that we exhibit at a single point in time. And it changes with time as we move through various cycles and awaken and ascend our consciousness.

As we awaken and ascend our consciousness, the range of frequencies that we can comfortably call our baseline/wave signature increases.

As introduced above, a wave signature is the overall pattern of individual waves (vibrations/cycles) that make up various parts of an object. Sounds, lights, colors, and our brains are examples of how a mix of waves creates an energy wave signature (or pattern).

Every object in existence (both physical and non-physical) has its unique energy wave signature. Quantum mechanics seems to point in that same direction. (See this somewhat scientific paper: Quantum Mechanics. The Wave Equation, The Signature Wave, Entanglement and the S Drive, by Carlos Orozco (2016); pdf file.)

The object may be a person, animal, plant, rock, house, car, city, country, mountain, planet. It also included a thought/idea, emotion, experience, event, spiritual dimension, ET/alien being, ascended master, or anything else that we can name and describe.

We can think of thoughts as a subtle or non-physical version of the physically sensed objects in our experience. Subtle means having a lower amplitude vibration. A very low volume sound is a low amplitude sound wave.

A person might vibrate at a fast frequency, but with a low amplitude. That would mean they are in a high state of consciousness, but they would have less influence on others. Similarly, a low frequency/vibration person could have a high amplitude/power influencing many around them.

by CLAUDIA DEA (Flicker.com, cc-by)

Each object vibrates uniquely. It has a unique wave signature or pattern that reflects the combined compressed energy wave patterns from its many parts.

As humans, everything surrounding us plays a role in compressing the energy that makes us unique. Some things, though, are more prominent, including our DNA and genetic codes, our birthplace and time (relative to the stars and moon), and our early childhood caregivers and environment.

Our personality, identity, and ego reflect those many influences. They result in a unique mix of compressed energies that together are the compressed energy that is us — our unique wave signature.

The conservation of energy means anything that compresses will eventually expand. We expand our energies in overt ways through our gender, coloring, height, personality, external abilities, and external personality. Others are internal, such as our thoughts, memories, and emotions. And still others are in our subconscious and unconscious.

Each of our compressed energies has a wave pattern. They take turns coming to the foreground and influencing our lived experience. But together they are our overall wave signature.

From a spiritualist perspective, our personal wave signature is the combined wave signatures of: (1) the many cells and organs of our Physical Body, (2) the multiple personalities (or egos) of our Emotional Body, and (3) the deepest inner-self and soul of our Causal Body.

Our larger context also affects our 3 bodies. For the Physical Body, that context is the 3rd Dimensional world that dominates our waking experience. The people and things we interact with in our 3D experience influence our wave signature.

Our Emotional Body includes the beliefs that we have accumulated from how we judge and internalize our experiences. Those experiences include the physical world but may also include astral worlds (the 4th Dimension). For both, our ego-based judgments are often inaccurate.

The Causal Body is our spiritual selves. It includes our intuition and inner guidance (which we may project as Spirit Guides or a Higher Self). The purpose of our existence comes from our Causal Body, which is part of a soul collective in the 5th Dimension. It is always present and influences us. But our ego seldom consults it or acknowledges its presence.

That is how 3D, 4D, and 5D energy waves/patterns resonate in our wave signature. With introspection, some of these can be very obvious.

In this quote, Seth/Jane Roberts identifies consciousness as that which concentrates the energy wave into forms…

“Consciousness forms patterns of identities. They move faster than the speed of light. They can be in more than one place at one time. They can operate in a freewheeling fashion as identities in themselves, or as ‘psychological particles.’ They can also operate in a wavelike fashion, flowing through other such particles. They can form together into endless, infinite combinations, forming psychological gestalts. Certain portions of these gestalts can then operate as ‘psychological particles’ in time and space, while other portions operate in a wavelike manner outside of time and space.” — Seth/Jane Roberts, The “Unknown” Reality, volume 2, Appendix 18

For more on the many “yous” who would contribute to your wave signature, see:

For more on your purpose in life, see:

Biorhythms are a simplified example of how we sense that wave patterns correlate with major aspects of our human life. Biorhythm theory originated in the 1800s with the idea that, starting from birth, distinct wave frequency patterns govern our mental, emotional, and physical lives.

This biorhythm graph shows the basic cycles of physical (23 days), emotional (28 days) and intellectual (33 days), from the day of the person’s birth. By Life of Riley (Wikipedia, CCBYSA)

Consulting biorhythm charts was popular in the 1970s. But many abandoned them when studies found no correlation between the theory and reality. That does not mean biorhythm-like wave patterns do not exist as part of our wave signature. It just shows that this model was too simplistic.

[5] Spiritual Waves Are Everywhere — EXAMPLES

Here are some examples of spiritual concepts that correlate with the characteristics of waves, making them part of a possible Wave Theory of Everything.

[5.1] The Three Gunas — A Hindu Spiritual Theory of Everything

People turn to religion and spirituality to understand the nature of the universe we are experiencing. Because of that, there are many religious and spiritual “Theories of Everything”.

In Hinduism, the Three Gunas are the forces underlying our experience of manifest reality, which is also called maya, or “illusion”. For Hinduism, the only reality is Brahman, or the void of emptiness from which all creation emanates. But for our manifest universe (maya), the Three Gunas form a Hindu-based Theory of Everything.

The Three Gunas reflect the shape and energy characteristics of wave vibrations. The shape is the wave’s Peak(+), Trough(-), and Rest. The energy is the wave’s Amplitude, Wavelength, and Equilibrium.

  • Tamas the Contractive, Inactive, or Inertia Force of Entropic Decline — traditionally: inertia, solidity; the world as physical reality — the Wave Trough & Wavelength: a deeper Trough results in more negative emotions; a longer Wavelength results in slower movement
  • Rajas the Expansive, Active Force of Creative Expansion — traditionally: movement, transformation; the world as an illusion — the Wave Peak & Wave Amplitude: a higher Peak results in more intense creativity; larger Amplitude means more power and change
  • Sattva the Balancing or Harmonizing Force of Rest — traditionally: purity, awakening; the world as the divine play (lila) —the Wave’s Equilibrium or Rest reference line lies between the extremes of Peak/Trough and Amplitude/Wavelength

Each guna rises and falls in prominence to create the ever-changing illusion (or maya) of 3D physical phenomena and experiences. Because of how the Bhagavad Gita describes them, many see Tamas as what we want to avoid, and Sattva as what we want to seek.

The Three Gunas apply to everything in manifest (or phenomenal) reality — everything that we can experience. That includes both our daily life and the spiritual purpose or goal of our incarnations.

In my article, “Awakening vs Self-Realization vs Enlightenment” (section [6.1]), I describe 3 paths or stages of spiritual experience and growth. This shows how certain vibrations can have a meta (higher level) influence over a large part of our life and personality for a period of time.

The first path or stage is seeking “Outer Happiness”, which moving from Tamas to Rajas. That is what most people on Earth are seeking in the outside world. The second is seeking “Inner Happiness”, which is moving from Rajas to Sattva. That is what spiritually awakened people are seeking when they turn inward.

But, as noted above, the gunas are aspects of the maya (illusion) of phenomenal reality. The flow of life and of all manifest creation is the movement from peak to trough, from positive to negative, and from pleasure to pain. In Hinduism, they also see this in the cycles of incarnation. And it is all suffering (which Buddhism also teaches).

The third path or stage of spiritual experience and growth is “Becoming Our True Self”. That is when we transcend the gunas (and happiness). We reach full Hindu enlightenment (Brahman) by going beyond the influence of the gunas. This is the realm of nonduality, in which nothing exists, and everything exists (see section [8], below).

There are many other terms used to define these 3 forces, which an online search will reveal. Those terms all align with the Wave Peak/Trough/Rest, and Wave Amplitude/Wavelength/Equilibrium analogies described here.

Many other spiritual models also align with various wave characteristics. That is why energy waves seem to offer the best model of a Spiritual Theory of Everything.

See, for example, the many ways spiritualists use the Law of 3 in this article:

[5.2] Breathwork — Using Prana to Work with Alternate Realities

Breathing in and breathing out is an obvious and direct way that we, as a physical body, connect with the wave of the universe.

  • Inbreath = Wave Peak(+)
  • Outbreath = Wave Trough(-)
  • Breath Hold, Suspend or Continuous = Equilibrium or Rest
  • Breathing Depth = Wave Amplitude
  • Breathing Speed = Wavelength, Frequency, or Period

There are many pranayama techniques from Hinduism, Buddhism, and other sources of breathwork practices. These often work with the different attributes of breathing above to influence other parts of our body and mind.

Our heart is another example of a wave that is in motion through each heartbeat. I cannot directly control our heart with our mind. But I can influence it through physical activity, including breathwork. There are many breathing techniques and websites, for example, to help with high blood pressure (search on “breathing to lower hpb”).

[5.3] Raising Your Vibration — To Solve ALL Your Problems

There are probably more web pages and YouTube videos on “how to raise your vibration” than any other single spiritual topic. A simple search will give you more than you can ever read or watch!

That is good. It shows that people recognize the role that “vibrations” play in creating their reality and experience. They may have many definitions of vibrations, but that is OK, too.

by digitalbob8 (Flicker.com, cc-by)

Some of the main reasons people want to raise their vibration include:

  1. To attract, create, or manifest financial abundance, a Soulmate/Twin Flame partner, or some other higher vibration deep desire into their life
  2. To overcome or get through a low vibration “Dark Night of the Soul” experience of depression and demonic influences
  3. To evolve their vibration to a higher state of consciousness (awakening, self-realization, enlightenment)
  4. To communicate with ETs, angels, ascended masters, a future self, a higher self, and other being in higher vibrational dimensions
  5. To raise the planet Earth to a higher vibration and a higher dimension (ascension). That may also mean ascending to an alternate version of Earth that is already in a higher vibration

The online resources for “raising our vibration” are very generic. These include anything that makes us feel “better”. That is not bad. But it means a lot of trial and error to find the practice best suited to a person and their needs or desires.

A more effective approach would apply Frequency, Wavelength, and Amplitude in a systematic way to raise our vibrations. That would include: — (1) The wave signature of the individual seeker; and — (2) The wave signature of their desired goal.

But a better way to think of this is instead to bring our vibrations into coherence. Coherence means the “integration of diverse elements, relationships, or values” in a “systematic or logical connection or consistency”. There is high predictability in a system when it is coherent. Incoherence is chaos.

We are not one energy wave. We are many, many energy waves in a cooperative system around a point of consciousness. It can work to raise the vibration of all those parts of us in one fell swoop. But meeting the unique needs of different parts of us so that they all work together coherently might be more effective. (I discuss this more in Part 6, below.)

Find Your Frequency (YouTube) is a 10-minute TedX Talk by David Meltzer, a sports marketer and author, presented to high school students (I think). The basic message is that by raising your frequency, you can “make more money, help more people, and have fun”. (It is not actually about how to find your frequency.)

⬇️ In this recording (YouTube), Elan, channeled by Andrew Bayuk, says that anything that gives us a feeling of excitement (with integrity) is in alignment with our wave signature vibration.

Thus, by following what excites us the most in each moment, we are enhancing our wave signature. When we reject the most exciting option and follow a lesser one, we move away from who we truly are.

Integrity is important here. Our exciting actions must be done with integrity, which means they support the oneness of creation. Actions with integrity raise not only our vibration, but the vibration of everything around us and the entire universe. Actions without integrity feed our ego-self and separate us from the world.

[6] How to Change Our Energy Wave Signatures — EXPANDING & TRANSMUTING

“Before you can be allowed into systems of reality that are more extensive and open, you must first learn to handle energy, and see, through physical materializations, the concrete result of thought and emotion. As a child forms mud pies from dirt, so you form your civilization out of thoughts and emotions, and then see what you have created, and you must deal with it on its terms. … In other systems, energy is more directly felt, more extensive. Consciousness has much more freedom in its utilization. The lessons must be properly learned before [you receive] such responsibility.” — Seth/Jane Roberts, The Early Sessions, Book 9, Session 446, Nov 6, 1968

[6.1] How We Create Our Reality

Energy waves are always moving and changing, cycling through the polarities of peak(+) and trough(-). Peaks are also associated with compression and troughs with expansion (or rarefaction) for longitudinal waves.

Go to this graphic and click “RUN” to see Peaks, Troughs, Compressions, and Expansions in action:

Our human ego-self naturally judges peaks as good and troughs as bad. We attach ourselves to compressions (by judging them good or bad) and are insensitive to expansions (because they are too subtle).

Judgments and attachments cause our suffering. Because of that, many religious teachings suggest life/manifest reality is only suffering (see section 5.1).

In addition, we can know the universal energy of the unified field of Source / All-That-Is as either a “wave” or as a “particle”. Spiritually, a “wave” means knowing nonduality, oneness, unity consciousness, and the soul-self. A “particle” means knowing separation, diversity, 3D consciousness, and the ego-self.

When we (our ego-self) focus on something, the wave collapses and compresses into a seemingly separate particle. This is how energy compresses into forms that we experience as objects, things, thoughts, events, and experiences.

When we hold a spacious awareness, free of thoughts and ego, we allow the compressed energy to be both particles (separate) and waves (one with everything), which is closer to the true nature of manifest reality.

It is our perceptions and belief systems that “cause” particles (objects / thoughts / experiences) to come into existence from the quantum void.

We create our reality through the following stages. Each stage is a deeper/stronger compression of an energy form/belief that is part of us:

  1. Psychic or Causal Energies — these are the foundational energies patterns we agree upon to create the experiences of the spiritual dimension we are focused on. We are currently focused on the 3rd Dimension. So, we must use energies that reflect physical objects, linear time, and 3D space, for example.
  2. Unconscious and Conscious Energy Beliefs — these form the basis of mental judgments that we make about our 3D world. We judge things as good or bad, right or wrong, to maintain a separation between ourselves and everything we experience. Such moral judgments are always relative to us as a separate being. (Our deepest beliefs are in the “Causal Body” as they “cause” what we manifest. We also called it the “Mental Body”, which differs from our ego-mind.)
  3. Felt Emotional Energies — our first apparent response to an experience is an energy of emotion. It is a more compressed form of the belief energy that we have already adopted. (This is the “Emotional Body”.)
  4. Emotional and Rational Thought Energies — thoughts arise from our emotional feelings. They are further contractions of the energy that arose from the initial judgment. Some thought energies are uncontrolled (monkey mind) responses, while others result from considered reflection. As we awaken more into our fuller consciousness, the uncontrolled thoughts become less. (This is best thought of as the “ego-self” or “ego-mind”.)
  5. Spoken and Physical Energy Actions — the belief energy finally emerges into physical reality as something we say or do. Others can now more clearly see and hear the energy that we are putting out.
  6. Our Physical World of Energies — some say there is another stage beyond actions where the energy belief compresses even more to become a physical form.

Each step is an increase in Amplitude (strength, power), moving from the non-physical/subtle to the physical/material/gross. Thus, Manifestation is about growing the Amplitude of an energy wave.

That is how we form our experiences and our entire physical world from our beliefs. And this is how the physical world we experience is, in every instance, a direct reflection of our beliefs. Our physical reality in each moment is the full expression of our personal Energy Wave Signature.

[Note: I partially based the stages above on the teachings of Elan/Andrew Bayuk, as in this YouTube video. But we can see similar versions put forward by many other spiritual teachers.]

With regard to the first step in the list above, Seth/Jane Roberts says that each person creates their own universe in its entirety. When we close our eyes, for example, that entire universe is there within us.

There are common objects that we agree upon with others at the psychic / causal level, such as a table, the moon, and our bodies. But those objects differ from each person’s perspective (each person’s universe). They are close enough so we can talk about them, though even then disagreements can be significant. (😁)

In addition, to conserve energy, we only create the objects we need to create. Creating objects that we do not know or perceive to exist is a waste of our spiritual/psychic energy. Anything we sense is created by the sense organ that senses it, using the methods or steps above. Similarly, anything we think exists, exists at the thinking level of our personal universe. If it does not exist at our sensory or thinking level, then it does not exist for us in our personal universe.

“Almost every child suspects that at one time or another when his eyes are closed his immediate surroundings have disappeared. He supposes that when he does not see a chair the chair does not exist; and my dear friends, the boy in this case is smarter than the man. … When his senses, his outer senses, do not perceive a physical object in his self-perspective (and hyphenate that please), in his self-perspective, the object simply does not exist. If the object is touched and not seen or otherwise perceived, then in his self-perspective it exists only in the realm of his sensual perception of it. It does not exist to be seen if he does not see it. If his father, for example, sees the chair that the boy does not see, then the object exists as a thing to be seen in the father’s self-perspective. Each individual himself creates a portion or a whole physical object. Many people appear to see an object, but the object that they see is not the same object, but only approximates an object.” — Seth/Jane Roberts, The Early Sessions, Book 2, session 63 on June 17, 1964

[6.2] Undesired Energy Waves/Particles

In our 3D existence, we develop and carry some undesirable compressed energies in our wave signature. We call these stress, karma, samskaras, energy blocks, misunderstandings, and ignorance. They include our deeper fears and desires.

We know these are undesirable because we feel that our body and mind are not functioning in a coherent and expected manner. Something is out of sync and not right.

Some say that all compressed or contracted energies are what we call “hell”, while expanded or released energies are what we call “heaven”. This same reasoning calls 3D the “contracted” dimension and “4D/5D the “expanded” dimension.

That approach is too broad because nothing would exist anywhere without compression/contraction. But there are some things that are more contracted that we might prefer.

The “conservation of energy” states that we can transform or transmute energy, but we can never destroy it. Because of that, “unresolved compressed energy forms” continue after our body dies. That sets us up for our next incarnation.

For example, when we are born, our DNA and genetic makeup carried compressed energy waves from our ancestors and our past lives. We then accumulate more compressed energies in our childhood and through other noteworthy events in our lives. These shape our beliefs about ourselves and our relationship with the world.

We sometimes call these psychological shadows and address them through shadow work.

A shadow is a type of non-physical “form”. There are many ways to do shadow work. Here I treat shadow forms as compressed energy waves. As part of the Spiritual Theory of Everything, this should contribute to understanding all other forms of shadow work — in theory, at least.

For more on karma, see:

by Person Name (Flicker.com, cc-by)

[6.3] Expanding & Transmuting Undesired Energies

There are two ways to address the undesired compressed energies (shadows) embedded in our mind and body:

  1. We can expand (release) the energy to return it to its underlying waveform. — A compressed energy wave/particle is still part of the universal wave. It connects to everything and is in constant motion and change. To expand (or release) a shadow energy means allowing it to return to that underlying mass energy wave that it arose from.
  2. We can transmute the energy to turn it into a different compressed waveform. — To transmute means to change the characteristics of an energy wave or wave signature. This includes its frequency, wavelength, and amplitude. The total energy does not change, only its waveform changes.

Some say that our energy wave signature determines how we respond to the present and who we will be in the future. It is “The Matrix”. And we have no free will to convert, expand, release, or transmute undesired energy patterns. It will happen when it happens based on our wave signature. It might be in this life or a future life.

The best we can do is accept the ride we are on with awe and wonder and without trying to resist our situation. Resistance causes our ego to suffer.

Others suggest that the source of all wave energies is in the present moment. When we are fully in the present, we are one with the universal energy wave. That gives us the freedom to access different future probabilities (different energy wave signatures). Some say the number of possibilities are limited, while others see them as infinite.

We can expand/release or transmute our unresolved shadow energies in the present through meditation, knowledge, bodywork, yoga and kundalini practices, shadow work, psychological therapies, and other modalities.

Deep tissue massage, for example, can release physical forms of stuck energies in our body’s physiology. We can then convert them into the original emotional experience associated with compressed energy. We can then allow their expression to expand and release from our mind-body being.

“I am not telling you to inhibit thoughts or feelings. I am asking that you become aware of those you have. Realize that they form your reality. Concentrate upon those that give you the results that you want. If you find all of this difficult, you can also examine your physical reality in all of its aspects. Realize that your physical experience and environment is the materialization of your beliefs. If you find great exuberance, health, effective work, abundance, smiles on the faces of those you meet, then take it for granted that your beliefs are beneficial. If you see a world that is good, people that like you, take it for granted, again, that your beliefs are beneficial. But if you find poor health, a lack of meaningful work, a lack of abundance, a world of sorrow and evil, then assume that your beliefs are faulty and begin examining them.” — Seth/Jane Roberts, The Nature of Personal Reality, Session 615, September 20, 1972

[6.4] Releasing Through Enlightenment

Whether we have free will, a state of self-realization (also called awakening and enlightenment) can help us deal with stuck energies. Self-realization is when we know we are not our wave signature. We are not our body, mind, emotions, ego, past, future, small self, the doer, and the world we experience.

Instead, we are our core consciousness, which is unconditioned, formless, and eternal. At our deepest level, our consciousness created the universal energy wave that we experience. From pure consciousness, we are aware of the wave, but its compressions and expansions (and the stories built around them) do not affect us.

That state of consciousness accepts that we may never understand the true nature and purpose of our shadows, existence, and reality. Going with the flow of Taoism is an effective way to think of this. Another is living in the present (“Be Here Now”), and not in the stories we have created of the past and future.

At another level, we enter a state of Unity Consciousness. That means being and acting in the world but holding a state of pure awareness beyond the forms, diversity, ego, and experiences of the particles of life. We are the energy wave that connects everything. And we often know everything (in a psychic-like way) because of that.

Both the Tao and Unity Consciousness are forms of enlightenment or self-realization. They are also closer to an Equilibrium (or “0” zero) state of being. Anything short of that keeps the particle as a separate object.

[6.5] An Example of Transmuting & Expanding Shadow Energy

The spiritual practices that expand/release an undesired energy can also transmute it. That means turning into an energy that we see as more neutral or positive.

All shadows are Low Vibrations (negative polarities & wave troughs). Our 3D ego-self always judges this as “bad”. So, we want to get rid of it.

Because of the “conservation of energy”, a shadow’s energy is the same as any other particle on the wave of life. But the energy form (frequency, wavelength, & amplitude) makes it stand out as unique.

The Frequency, Wavelength, and Amplitude of each shadow are different.

— Amplitude (how strong or loud the emotion is) is what we notice the most. But there is also… — Frequency (how often we think about it), and — Wavelength (how often we try to change it)

by Robert Course-Baker (Flicker.com, cc-by)

As an example, I took part in a bullying event when I was a freshman in high school. I have long regretted having done that. No one was physically hurt, but there was emotional hurt.

I understand, in my mind, that I did it because of peer pressure and youthful ignorance. But I still feel bad about doing it.

That is a shadow event that is a compressed energy wave stuck in my memory and my physiology. It is a Low Vibration feeling (wave trough), which I interpret as bad.

When the event first happened (when the form was first created/compressed), the wave characteristics were:

  1. Fast Frequency: It came up in my thoughts a lot after it happened.
  2. Short Wavelength: It put me through many changes as I questioned what I had done and what I should have done.
  3. Large Amplitude: It was intense because I don’t recall ever doing anything like that before (or since).

I worked on this compressed shadow energy over the years. I have done that by: — Meditating (in different ways), — Expanding my knowledge of my multidimensional psyche (from different teachings), and — Trying to live in alignment with my true self.

There was no magic bullet. It was part of my general and incremental spiritual growth. The shadow memory has not entirely disappeared. But over the years, I have:

  1. Slowed the Frequency of times that it arises in my memory. I have very few regrets in my life because I see that each person and each thing has a purpose. And every event is synchronicity and opportunity.
  2. Lengthened the Wavelength, giving it more distance from who I am now. My deepest awareness of who I am has never changed. But everything else about me has changed many times over the decades. And I have embraced those changes; I have had many lifetimes in this one incarnation.
  3. Reduced the Amplitude by knowing that I could not have acted differently. Some things are meant to happen. Sometimes we play the role of the victim. Sometimes the role of the perpetrator. It is all part of the experience and learning that our soul has created for us.

Doing any one of these three things affects the other two. By doing all three, I expanded/released and transmuted most of the compressed energy of that event.

— My meditation and yoga practices expanded some of the compressed energy back into the oneness of the universal energy waveform that is its source. But some of the negative energy is still there to a degree.

— My spiritual knowledge and perspectives transmuted some of the compressed energy into more beneficial energies (positive wave peaks). This was in the way I tried to help others in my profession when I could. I especially tried to help those who I felt were treated unfairly.

[7] Everything Connects to Everything Else in the Energy Wave — ENTRAINMENT & RESONANCE

I loved the section of the PBS video, linked above and below, showing how a probability wave remains a wave until we tune our focus to an individual particle. The wave disappears, and we only see (or experience) the particle.

To me, that is how the world works at all scales of reality, not only quantum reality and spiritual reality. As a retired human geographer and city planner, I have focused on the geographic scale of places and the spaces they occupy for most of my life. That ranges from neighborhoods to cities to countries and the entire planet Earth.

Even at those scales…

Everything is a wave of probabilities until we focus on it to create a thing.

For example, the humanistic geographer, Yi-Fu Tuan, described our experience of the Earth as starting with formless space. We create that space through our perceptions, movements, and ideas about what space should be.

From that space, we create “places” by identifying something (placing a box or boundary around it) and giving it significance (naming it, for example).

“People demonstrate their sense of place when they apply their moral and aesthetic discernment to sites and locations.” — Yi-Fu Tuan, 1979, “Space and Place: Humanistic Perspective”

Place making is like a quantum wave collapsing into a particle when we look at it. It is our focus and discernment that brings places into our human experience of the void of space.

[7.1] Co-Creating Wave Signatures with Others

You create your own universe. But you also co-create a shared universe with others. Similar vibrations attract one another, and they have closer connections and sharing. But there is never perfect alignment.

If you can see, think about, or conceptualize another being, object, thought, or emotion, then you are vibrating similarly with it. And the two of you are “sharing” parts of your universes.

We have many words to describe our sharing of energy and vibration with others in supportive ways. These include Synchronicity, Synchronizing, Coherence, Harmony, Congruence, Cooperation, Cohesion, Symbiosis, Alignment, Resonance, Coordination, Consensus, Entrainment, Integration, Agreement, and Oneness.

The timelines and life paths that we share with other people reflect underlying shared vibrations. Those energies will change as circumstances change. When the vibrations become different, the shared universe will also diminish.

That can make you feel sad as you drift apart from an old friend. If the shared vibration completely vanishes, then your shared universe also vanishes. That may mean a death occurs or that one (or both) of you forgets the other.

Wave signatures are unique to each separate object or form. But they are all connected through the universal energy wave that underlies all creation. (Remember the “ocean and wave” analogy in section [1].) Because of that connection, they can support one another in many ways.

There are four general ways that one wave (or wave signature) can interact and vibrate with another. When we speak of resonating (or not) with others, we are doing one of these.

(1) ENTRAINMENT — When One Object Changes to Match the Vibrational Wave Energy Pattern of Another Object. We see this in: — Physics (when a weaker pendulum changes to match a stronger one’s pattern), — Brain waves (when we change our frequencies to match others in a group), — Biomusicology (when we tap to the rhythm of a song we hear), and — Linguistics (when one person adopts the accent or slang of another). — Education (when a student learns to think like their teacher)

(2) RESONANCE A Major Increase in Amplitude (Power) that Occurs When Two Waves Share Similar Vibrations. The two (or more) similar energy waves merge their frequencies and wavelengths. Through cooperation, they increase the amplitude of their joined wave, which can get larger and larger. It is often more powerful and focused than the sum of the two separate waves. “The sum is greater than the parts.”

[See also section 5.3 on Raising Your Vibration. The Elan recording at the end of that video is a method for creating more resonance in our lives.]

(3) HARMONYAn Increase in Equilibrium from Two or More Waves with Different Frequencies and Wavelengths. The two waves support each other by compensating for their strengths and weaknesses. They flow in unison but maintain their differences. Harmony is the way different waves balance each other, bringing the experience to equilibrium. We associate it with music and with peaceful co-existence in an ecosystem. Your body is also an example of a diverse ecosystem of energy forms cooperating in harmony with one another (most of the time, at least). — Harmony is a form of Coherence. Coherence is more logical and predictable, whereas Harmony is more poetic.

(4) DISSONANCE An Increase in Chaos when Two or More Waves with Different Patterns Do Not Support Each Other. Something feels wrong and out of place. This is sometimes intentional in music and poetry. It is psychological stress when it appears in our thoughts, beliefs, values, and sensory perceptions (cognitive dissonance). Dissonance can be a powerful motivation for us to seek harmony and resonance.

Two waves (dashed lines A + B) moving from Resonance to Harmony (solid line C) to Resonance to Harmony to Resonance — by Internet Archive Book Images (Flicker.com, CC0)

We cannot give our energy to another person. Nor do we take it away from another. We transform our energy (frequency, wavelength, & amplitude) to better resonate or harmonize with another. And we show another our energy so they can better resonate or harmonize with us. This is what we mean by “sharing energy”.

If you feel that someone has taken your energy, what is actually happening is you have reduced your energy (usually your frequency) to match their lower vibration. But that is a choice you have made. (This perspective comes from Elan/Andrew Bayuk in It’s YOUR Energy ~ The illusion of group energy on YouTube.)

Some people and objects in your life seem the exact opposite to you. There may be a sense of dissonance or a kind of harmony where opposites attract one another. That is important because they represent parts of yourself that you suppress or reject. But they are still parts of your vibration. They are teaching you what you need to be more aware of in yourself.

We may seek dissonance. We often do this with the specific goal of expanding our experience and consciousness. An example of that is the popularity of travel and tourism.

For some trips we take, the more “exotic” (different) the location, the better. We may experience the dissonance of “culture shock”. But that also gives us something to reflect upon and then to share our new insights with others.

With travel, we completely immerse ourselves in new and different energies/vibrations. That expands our consciousness, even if we are unaware of it. For more on this topic, see:

The contrasts among resonance (oneness), harmony (diversity), and dissonance (separation) reflect the cycle of polarities through which energy waves oscillate. Diversity is at one extreme (peak/+ or trough/-) and Oneness is at the other. As with “masculine/yang/+” and “feminine/yin/-”, one is not better than the other. They both need to work together for a balanced universe.

The overall energy wave of the universe contains an infinite number of energy waves that contract and expand through an infinity of levels. Each contraction sees itself as a separate entity. But they are all connected and cooperating through resonance, entrainment, and harmony to form the co-creation of manifest reality.

“Thoughts, dreams, purposes and intents, plans and wishes are constantly speeding outward from the core of self unimpeded. They are not closeted within the skull as you might think. As many quite real phenomena cannot be seen by your eyes, so with your outer senses you cannot perceive these constant departures of quality-energy from the self into what seems to be notself. These energies, these thoughts and wishes, travel. They pass through physical matter. Each self is therefore not only ejecting almost in missile fashion such energy from his own core, but he is also constantly impinged by such energy from others. He chooses to translate whatever portions of this energy he so chooses, back into forms that can be picked up and understood by his own mechanism. The choice involved is of course determined by his own personality.” — Seth/Jane Roberts, The Early Sessions, Book 2, Session 57, May 27, 1964

[7.2] Examples of Co-Creating Energy Waves

(a) Spiritual Geography: Waldo Tobler’s First Law of Geography states that everything is related to everything else, but near things are more related than distant things. That is like the Quantum Field and Wave Theories of Physics. The crucial difference is that “near things” in geography are spatially close to each other, whereas “near things” in quantum physics are entangled.

That is also how we co-create our personal and shared universe with others.

Because everything connects to everything else, what happens at one time and place affects all places. The choices we make and the actions we take effect our entire universe. What others do in our universe affects us as well.

A constant push and pull of energy occurring through our physical, social, emotional, and spiritual interactions. Sometimes we are experiencing entrainment, sometimes resonance, sometimes harmony, and sometimes dissonance.

The degree of these effects varies based on “nearness”. As we move through our days and our lives, we are nearer and more connected with the energies of some people, places, and ideas than others. That nearness connection is irrespective of time and space.

“There are more worlds than you suppose, and in your own private experience each of you contributes to the world that you know. You and your counterparts together form it. Your physical body alone is equipped to perceive far more than you presently allow it to. Physically you are a part of every other person upon the earth, and you have a connection with each leaf and frog and nail.” — Seth/Jane Roberts, The “Unknown” Reality, volume 3, Section 6, Session 733, January 27, 1975

(b) Student-Teacher Relationships: In common use, we speak of resonating with a certain teacher or teaching. What that means is that the wave signature of the teaching increases the amplitude of the student’s existing wave signature. The student feels their knowledge has advanced and expanded.

Education is entrainment when the student adopts (or aligns) their signature wave frequencies with the teacher.

But the teacher may also feel an amplitude increase in student responses to the teachings. That would be resonance.

Learning then becomes a two-way process. When that happens, resonance co-creates the most increase in knowledge for both the teacher and student.

(c) A Common Group Cause: We also resonate with people when we work together for a common cause or goal. The amplitude (energy level) and the sense of oneness and group cohesion (resonance and harmony) expand when the group works well together.

by Stephanie Young Merzel (Flicker.com, cc-by)

That is why groups often have a more impact than working alone. The more their signature waves resonate, the stronger the new waveform becomes, as the many merge into one.

There will be some more dominant individuals, such as bosses and natural leaders, with whom others entrain at least part of their energy. In this way, through entrainments, resonance, and harmony, the group members combine their signature waves to co-create the wave signature of their shared idea, cause, or goal.

… there are no coincidences in any groupings — biological or psychic or social. It is obvious that certain interests bring people together in any club meeting or gathering. There are reasons, then, why people are born in any given century, and why they meet in space and time. — Seth/Jane Roberts, The “Unknown” Reality, volume 2, Section 5: Session 724 December 4, 1974

(d) Personal Lifestyle Choices: Another way that we work with co-created vibrations is through our lifestyle choices.

We often get to choose what we want to resonate with. Each time we choose between two things, we support and resonate with one vibration over others. That enhances those things with which we resonate. And the more we resonate with them, the stronger their amplitude (prominence) becomes in our lives and world.

We exhibit our frequencies through our dress, speech, and actions for others to see and feel. Others see and sense us, and some of them are entrained by that. And what we see and feel in others entrains us. The closer we are to others, the more entrainment will take place. When entrainment goes both ways, it becomes resonance.

[7.3] A Better World

Humankind is barely beginning to understand the importance of wave signatures and how to work with wave energies for personal and larger transformations.

Wave signatures make everything unique. That is a radical change from our past practices of generalizing (and stereotyping) people, places, and problems. Intentionally co-creating through shared vibrations has the power to change our lives and our world.

The following are areas that could benefit.

(a) Health & Healing:

Wave signature knowledge could create an entirely new level of personalized medicine and healing beyond anything known today. We could customize medical treatments to the individual person and ailment.

The focus would be on self-healing, expanding, and releasing undesired contracted energies, and bringing the signature waves into harmony and coherence.

Energy healing is a growing field of alternative healing that involves working with spiritual energies and tapping into the healing power of the universal wave of Source. (Some are skeptical of energy healing.)

My gongs set up for a sound meditation at a yoga retreat in Arizona. By Alan Lew, author, cc-by.

Sound healing is a popular approach that uses sound waves from different sources to affect our physical and mental well-being. Although there have been many research studies on the use of sound in this way, it remains on the periphery of scientific acceptance. (See the TEDx link below.)

Another approach to energy healing is for the psychic healer to “feel” the health issue that the patient is having through resonance and entrainment. They then tune the frequency, wavelength, and amplitude of the ailment within their own bodies. By doing so, they entrain the new energy wave in the patient to heal the ailment.

A third energy healing approach uses our hands. Our hands are a physical interface between our bodies and the world. We feel the energy wave signature of things we touch. We direct our energy wave to specific objects through our hands.

Reiki is an energy healing that originated in Japan. The Reiki practitioner uses their hands to sense energy (qi or ki) contractions and to heal physical ailments. They do that intuitively, working with frequencies, wavelengths, and amplitudes.

In a fourth approach to energy healing, people come together to create a “healing circle” where they resonate and amplify their group energy to heal people and places. Lynn McTaggart’s Power of Eight healing groups is one of the more well-known of these, with clear evidence of success.

These four forms of energy healing will further develop in the coming years. Merging objective allopathic medicine and subjective New Age energy healing practices is an area of much interest. The results to date focus on the psychological benefits more than physical healing, but are still promising.

This is one of many articles on the benefits of energy healing:

(b) World Cooperation & Peace:

Many spiritualists seek to change their vibration to communicate with ET and Spirit Guides. One way to practice that is by working with the vibrations of people and cultures different from our own.

Wave signature knowledge could help us to do that better. We would understand the differences between people, cultures, and countries. And with that knowledge, we could overcome barriers to solve our most pressing global challenges.

Group resonance can also help create a more peaceful world. Lynn McTaggart (mentioned above) started out as a journalist looking at the social impact of large group meditations (using Transcendental Meditation). There is much evidence showing statistically significant changes accompanying these meditation events. Despite that, political powers have not yet accepted it.

(c) Spiritual Activism:

To be spiritual, moral, and ethical, we must express the frequencies, wavelengths, and amplitudes that entrain and resonate the positive values to which we aspire.

Matias De Stefano says that we may be at a higher vibration than another person, although that can be difficult to know. If so, that means we are more mature — we have learned more through more experiences than they have.

In that situation, we nurture and teach those in lower vibrations with the same responsibility a parent has for a child. The higher our vibration, the more others we will need to have that sense of nurturing. Such teaching might be by example, rather than intentional effort.

Think of how you would like to be taught in such a situation. This is one way to think of your relationship with people in your life who seem to vibrate low energies much of the time.

That is how we change the world by changing ourselves. And that is why spiritual practice is the most important foundation to bring about social change in the world.

[8] A More Complete “Spiritual Theory of Everything“— RADICAL NONDUALITY

[8.1] The Silent Source of The Energy Field

As noted at the start of Section [2], above, Quantum Field Theory (also known as the Standard Model) has been remarkably successful in giving insight into the smallest things in physical reality. But it does not work so well with the largest things in our universe.

Similar to QFT, “Waves, Cycles, Energy, & Vibrations” explain a lot about manifest (physical) and phenomenal (experiential) reality, at least from a spiritual perspective. But they do not address that which is beyond creation. They do not explain Source/God/The Absolute.

Earlier (above), I pointed out how may see Source as the pure awareness, pure energy, and pure silence or stillness at the foundation of the quantum field/universal energy. Elan/Andrew Bayuk called Source the “Prime Frequency” of all creation [in Section 2.2]. Also, in that section, I mentioned how many spiritual teachers say humans are “fractals” (or replicas) of Source.

Those definitions imply Source is part of the quantum field/universal energy. But in Section [3], I noted how spiritualists see energy and vibrations as the building blocks or tools that Source uses to create everything. And in Section [5.1] those building blocks were the 3 Gunas.

Those definitions place Source/God/The Absolute/Brahman outside of the quantum energy wave. They come closer to a more complete Spiritual Theory of Everything.

The contraction and expansion of energy waves in the quantum field defines all manifest and phenomenal reality. Source is that beyond the energy waves. The energy somehow emerges from Source (that is why we call it Source).

Like physics, what I describe does not tell us how manifest reality came into existence. We have spiritual models of Source/God/The Absolute. And we assume it created manifest reality. We also have many enchanting stories about how that was done. But we really do not know. And the Spiritual Theory of Everything also does not (yet) know.

“Its energy is so unbelievable that it does indeed form all universes; and because its energy is within and behind all universes, and all planes and all fields, it is indeed aware of each sparrow that falls, for it is each sparrow that falls. This does not deny the free will of man, which is indeed misinterpreted. That supreme energy does indeed fight for existence in whatever form it shows itself.” — Seth/Jane Roberts trying to define “God” in The Early Sessions, Book 2, session 81 on August 26, 1964

[8.2] Radical Nonduality

Radical Nonduality offers a more complete “Spiritual Theory of Everything”in my opinion. It does not answer the last question I posed above. But it may have the best answer we can know (for now, at least).

Radical Nonduality teachings describe all manifest things as simply the contraction and expansion of energy. But Source is a “No Thing” or “nothing” because all things are forms and part of the energy field, and Source is beyond that. So, No Thing/nothing creates everything from itself, and everything is, in its essence, nothing.

Radical Nonduality is also known as Neo-Advaita. It comes out of Hinduism (Advaita Vedanta) but with modifications in recent decades in the West. The basic teaching is that “I” do not exist, and nothing exists.

There is no “I” (nor “we”) doing anything. There is only nothing (or “no thing”) being everything all at the same time, and with no knowable effort or purpose. And vice versa, everything is nothing. There is only “effortless awareness” (by nothing) of happenings that arise from nothing and everything, and then dissolve back into nothing and everything.

Everything that appears to be happening is an illusion and not real. The idea or feeling that “I” am doing anything, such as writing this article, is an illusion. Instead, there is only writing that appears to be happening, and there is a fictional “I” that claims that happening as its own. But the happening would happen, whether or not the “I” was there.

Some versions of nondualism say the pure awareness of nothing and all things is the only true essence that exists. They call it the “witnessing”. Others say even that is a fictional story.

Energy contracting and then expanding — by Internet Archive Book Images (Flicker.com, CC0)

Whether fictional or not, I suggest that the “nothing” or “no thing” or “witnessing” is the underlying energy wave of reality. Most nondualists will say that what appears to be happening is a story built around the contraction and expansion of energy.

Energy contracts and expands in a longitudinal wavelike pattern. (See patterns (a) and (b) in Fig. 2.) When it contracts, something appears to happen. There appears to be a person. There appears to be writing. And there appears to be talking or driving or eating or politics.

But then the energy expands, and the apparent happening dissolves into nothingness. Another apparent happening then arises from nowhere. And all of this occurs without effort on anyone’s part. And it all exists within a singular field of “nothing/no thing being everything at once, and everything be nothing/no thing”.

Because we do not exist, there is no “we” that can ever know the purpose of energy contracting and expanding. It simply is. It is the great mystery of existence. Even the energy wave analogy is an illusion and a fictional story created by an illusory “I”.

For more on Nondualism, see:

[8.3] A Quantum Theory of No Things

Quantum physicists like to play with similar concepts about space, time, and reality, as do spiritualists. This quantum theory is by Italian physicist Carlo Rovelli in his 2021 book Helgoland: Making Sense of the Quantum Revolution. Like Radical Nonduality, he suggests no things exist. What we call things are only relationships that we pick out of the continuum of spacetime.

From the article (bold text added by me):

“…space and time were nothing more than the sum total of distances and durations between all the objects and events of the world. If we removed the contents of the universe, we would remove space and time also. This is the “relational” view of space and time: they are only the spatial and temporal relations between objects and events. The relational view of space and time was a key inspiration for Einstein when he developed general relativity.

Rovelli makes use of this idea to understand quantum mechanics. He claims the objects of quantum theory, such as a photon, electron, or other fundamental particle, are nothing more than the properties they exhibit when interacting with — in relation to — other objects.

These properties of a quantum object are determined through experiment, and include things like the object’s position, momentum, and energy. Together they make up an object’s state.

According to Rovelli’s relational interpretation, these properties are all there is to the object: there is no underlying individual substance that “has” the properties.

[9.1] My Channelings & Meditations — Feeling the Wave of Energy

I started channeling in November 2019. I channel messages from a group. After a few different names, in February 2020 we settled on the name “Energy Group” because they, and everything, are essentially “energy”.

After writing the article above, I received two channeled messages and meditations related to energy. In the first, they talk about how they are simply energies. I can channel any energies by just adjusting the frequencies. The reference to “chakras” in the title has to do with a meditation that I do before I channel.

There is also a YouTube recording of that channeled message, and a related Chakra Humming guided meditation on SoundCloud (audio only).

In the second channeling, they suggested envisioning everything that I experience at each moment as energy. Here is that message:

Hello Alan. From our perspective, we are with you all the time. We are constantly giving you messages. Channeling is one way that we give you messages. But when you open your eyes and you look around your world, you see messages everywhere. There is nothing but message after message after message.

Of course, it is much more than your mind can contain or comprehend because that is a restriction that you took upon yourself as you came into this reality. But expanding your soul, expanding who you are, means expanding your mind so that you can understand the messages that are surrounding you everywhere.

And the thing is, those messages and that expansion mean you are going beyond words. Because words are one of the restrictions, one of the challenges, in your reality. Words place boxes around everything, and those boxes are limiting. Whereas reality is not limiting.

In reality, what you think of as a “word” in the 3rd Dimension is actually something that is constantly growing and expanding. It is an energy form.

So an energy takes on a particular “word” form or meaning in the 3rd Dimension. But beyond the 3rd Dimension, that form is constantly growing, constantly expanding, with the entire universe.

This is why it is so difficult to communicate, to comprehend, and to understand all the messages that are being delivered throughout your day and throughout your life, at every moment, from everything in your reality,

So, this is our message for you today. It is to go beyond the words, to feel the energy, to feel the thoughts. Feel what is being transmitted by the words, by how the words feel, what is being transmitted by your universe and by everything in your universe.

Anything that your attention is drawn to, that you notice, those are the key messages that are being transmitted.

And so, try to feel those messages without words. That requires quieting your mind and just being there with the object, with the thing.

This is our message for you today. Something for you to consider. Something for you to try. In fact, you are trying it right now as you receive this message. Well done.

We love you, namaste.

[9.2] What Some Others Say

After I wrote the first version of this article, I came across some interesting spiritual talks on how we are compressed energy bodies within the universal energy wave. I recommend the following:

The late Peter Brown on how we can directly experience the energy of reality:

  • Q: But, I recognize you when I see you…

Peter: You think you do. You recognize people in your dreams, too. Are they there? The recognition is something that happens subjectively in your consciousness. It’s energy appearing in your consciousness. Have you EVER had an experience that wasn’t energy appearing in your consciousness? -…No. So, what reality can be said to consist of as far as you know, is energy appearing in your consciousness. Right?

  • Q: Right. And that’s it?

Peter: Stay there. Where else is there to go? And you ARE that consciousness. Because anything “else” that appears in that consciousness, is dependent on that consciousness for its appearance to appear. Like your body is in your consciousness, this iPod is in your consciousness, or this room is in your consciousness; but the constant in the equation is always “your” consciousness. You go to sleep and your body disappears, but the consciousness that it was appearing in is still there.

So, what you are is the consciousness, not any partial experience that is appearing in it. It’s obvious. This is the result of asking “What can we know for SURE”, as opposed to what is speculation. We can speculate all we want. I can suppose that you all exist as somehow more than energies in my experience, but the fact is, based on the evidence, I can’t possibly know that.

What I can know is “you” AS ENERGY appearing in “my” consciousness. That’s where I start and that’s where I end. Any other supposition is fine, but it’s just supposition. It’s just a hypotheses. I can suppose, “Maybe you DO exist in the same way that I exist and are having your own experience”; and having the nature I do I may be motivated to talk with you about all this stuff to try to be of benefit, or because it amuses me to do so. But it’s all a mystery ultimately.

All I’m recommending is not to leap to conclusions. To stay with what is the CERTAINTY, what is the bedrock of truth that we can rest on. What is that fact? There IS a fact. There’s definitely a fact. And that fact is the being of the present moment. The “isness” of the present moment, which I subsequently analyze as consisting of energy in consciousness.

But even that’s speculation right there; because what do those words mean? What is consciousness actually? What is energy? I do that as a device to try to indicate what’s going on, but it’s fundamentally not accurate; you have to look and see for yourself what actually IS going on right here right now, to try to see what those words are actually referring to. What then IS the truth? It can’t be said. The truth is “IS”, “SAT” in Sanskrit, which means being, truth, isness; what actually is.
