Washington to Ohio — Travel Diary Day 6 and 7 and Home
Saturday, June 18, 2022 — Sunday, June 19, 2022

Disclaimer — I wrote about our travels in June 2022 as we drove to Ohio from the state of Washington in the old Winnebago Sightseer RV. As I read through the pages in the notebook, I thought it was a great documentation of the ups and downs, trials and successes of daily traveling in an RV full-time. I hope you enjoy it.

We are so ready to be home. Got up early and pulled out of the KOA at 6:00 am but just down the road we passed the time zone so now it is 7 am already. At least we are in the Eastern Time Zone now.
It is supposed to be hot and windy again today. Rich is getting pretty tired of driving, and especially of the wind. I am praying for a better day today and easier driving for him.
We stopped at a Pilot and got gas. It was $4.68 and we only put in $92.00.
Forest’s legs are still dragging and he doesn’t want to go out for a walk. Good thing he knows how to pee on the pads.

1:00 pm — We made it to Minnesota and stopped at the first rest area to eat lunch. (The photo above is not very good.) So far today I have been eating healthy and watching my calories. We are both so tired though. I look forward to being home and staying there for a while.
Minnesota looks more like what we are used to. There are fields and trees, and more farms and houses. It isn’t so desolate. It is pretty. It is green.
Gas stop again. $119.00. I swear that is all we get done doing.

The air conditioner isn’t working when we drive down the road. We are driving with our windows open. My hair is full of tangles. I really ought to get used to wearing headbands or scarves. My mom always wore headscarves when she would work outside in the garden.
It was a long day of just driving. I know I didn’t write much today but a boring day is good sometimes. I didn’t take very many photos either. The windows are dirty.
We made it to Albert Lea/Austin KOA in Hayward, Minnesota. Rich took the time to do some laundry and I did homework. Can’t wait to be done with college.
I wonder how far we will get tomorrow.

We made it to Wisconsin! One state closer to home!

Just crossed the Mississippi River for the thousandth time.

Made it to Illinois and the windshield is filled with bug splatters. Makes me feel closer to home already.

Stopped at a KOA in Illinois for the night. It was a nice place and we had a campfire. There was a group of campers traveling together and we visited with some of them.

Tomorrow we will be home! What a trip.
This is all of the writing I did in my notebook for this trip. The next day on Monday, June 20, 2022, we pulled into our daughter’s house in Ohio. I hope you enjoyed this taste of the traveling as I wrote about it. Thanks for reading.
