Washington to Ohio — Travel Diary Day 3
Wednesday, June 15, 2022

Disclaimer — I wrote about our travels in June 2022 as we drove to Ohio from the state of Washington in the old Winnebago Sightseer RV. As I read through this personal travel diary notebook, I thought it was a great documentation of the ups and downs, trials and successes of daily traveling in an RV full-time. Especially for newbies. I hope you enjoy it.

Okay, so last night Rich did finally drive back to the tow dolly after he rested a bit and found out the whole axle is broke in half. Seriously? I called three different places and no one will come get it and haul it away for us. They keep telling me they will take it if we can get it to them. The axle is broke stupid! How am I suppose to tow it to them? Stupid.
I don’t want to just leave it there. Rich says there is no way anyone will ever know it belonged to us. I don’t know what else to do. I called all the wreckers within an hour of here. I did get ahold of a U-haul place an hour north. We can rent a tow dolly from them for $184.00 from here to Fort Wayne, Indiana. I guess that is what we are going to have to do.

It got cold here overnight and Rich disconnected the water line so it wouldn’t freeze. We went for a drive late last night and the sunset over the mountains was beautiful. I took a few pictures.

I opened the curtains this morning and found a paw print on the window. I think it is a bear claw print?! We didn’t hear a thing during the night we were so tired. Forest didn’t even bark all night long. They did say there had been bears in the park and told us not to leave anything out. That’s kind of cool.
Rich got up on the roof and said the awning is completely ripped. He wants to just cut it off cause we can’t keep driving with it like that. So he did. He cut it off with a knife and threw it away. The strong winds out here suck. I am so frustrated this trip. I feel like we have spent too much money and too much time on stuff going wrong. I wish I could find a way to make money writing.

This morning we went for a drive and saw Hebgen Lake and Earthquake Lake. It is beautiful here. I am sort of glad Yellowstone was closed because we wouldn’t have taken the time to see these places. We will come back to Yellowstone another time when we can stay longer and see it all.

3:00 pm — Well crap. I think Forest hurt his back jumping from the footstool to the recliner. He is moving pretty slow and just laying around now not wanting to move. Sometimes he whimpers and yelps. I hope he will be okay.

Had hot dogs and macaroni and cheese for lunch. Then this afternoon we drove into West Yellowstone and walked around the shops. We put Forest in a carrier and took him with us. I got a T-shirt and Rich got a sweatshirt. The shops were nice. Forest was so good and loved the carrier. Everyone had to stop and pet him.
8:00 pm — Going to bed early. Hope we can leave by 7 am or so tomorrow. I wonder what will go wrong tomorrow.
Thanks for reading. Please clap and comment to let me know you stopped by.
