PHOTO-A-DAY CHALLENGE
Was This the Last Week of Summer?
Week 56 of the photographic documentary of my daily life
Not sure about that but it was definitively the last week of August. It’s very possible that September is going to be warmer than August. Because this year’s August was just miserable. Wet and cold.
But this didn’t stop me from being active. I jumped out of planes whenever it did not rain, I flew above the clouds and went for hikes in the forest. In the rain.
Today I was pretty convinced we wouldn’t be able to work. The weather looked just too bad. Rain showers every few minutes, massive storm clouds on the horizon, and a completely closed sky.
I took this picture from inside through the window. But a few moments later the sky opened up and we could jump in sunshine.

Another day in the office. Another day among stunning clouds. Another day with a great sunset. I love changing up the perspectives and placed the camera on the ground in the grass for this shot.

Welcome to my office. This was the view today. The view changes every day. Just like the weather does.
Above the clouds. My favorite kind of view from atop.

Back home again in fairytale land. More rain, more fog, more gloominess. Despite all the wetness of the day, we went for a hike in the forest. I enjoyed the fresh air.

My parents came for a visit today together with my grandma. It was raining all day but we still went for a walk in the forest. We were prepared with rain jackets and umbrellas to stay dry.
When we left the small lake in the village I started noticing piled-up pine cones. One pile every few meters. Eventually, I stopped and looked closer. It’s a star. Or a flower. One bigger pebble was placed in the middle and five pine cones around it. Someone has created an artwork on the forest trail. I assume it was kids.
Loved the sight of these “forest flowers”.

Tuesday again. Date night today? We decided against going to a restaurant due to the lovely weather and voted for a picnic. I packed the cooler box, my dad’s good wine (the one he makes himself), and off we went.
On the other side of the village are some tables and benches at the edge of the forest. Perfect for a sundowner picnic. It was a lovely evening. Not too hot, but not too cold either. And the sun peeked through in between the clouds now and then.
It was a romantic date night.

Back at work again. Back in the sky again. Back at shooting sunsets.

This has been my week in photographs. 7 days. 7 photographs. Anyone can join. Once. Or weekly. It doesn’t matter. We welcome everyone! Dennett was the one starting this photography challenge sometime last year and many have participated ever since.
