Viral!
OMG, it happened!
It happened, I did it. My first time!
Just yesterday I was telling you how I made 129 $ on my second month of Medium with nothing going viral.
I was so happy I got into the 7% so fast.

But I was of course dreaming of an article going viral. And was wondering how it happens to other people and where my writing or luck is lacking.
I did read some articles saying it was just a matter of luck so I left it at that. There’s no reason to try pushing your luck. That never works.
All you can do is work hard, work smart, and hope for the best.
And the best it was!
I came into work this morning and as usual, the first thing I did was to check my stats.
At first glance, I thought I opened something else by mistake because those could not have been my stats for one day of Medium.
I nearly fainted!
It’s not a colossal sum, but considering how much I usually make on a story, it’s huge!
This is the story that suddenly decided it was amazing:
I posted it 6 days ago, on May 26th. It did get engagement, claps, and comments from the start and it was one of my top stories for May, making 12.05 $ and ranking 4th. So it was one of the good ones.
More than that, I had such a great time writing it, that I was literally laughing every 2 sentences.
I’m guessing some of that good energy was transferred into the article and that’s how it got traction.
Yesterday, June 1st, 2022, the story had a sudden spike in views and made a whopping 37.07 $!!!
Let me do a quick victory dance and get on with my story.
As if that wasn’t enough, I just got my first ever referred member! I love you, referred member, I’ve been waiting for you for so long! Thank you for being my first.
Coupled with the earnings from the other stories, the total for the first day of June was 47.61 $. More than a third of what I earned the entire month of May.
I looked at the number and burst into tears.
I’m tearing up as I’m writing this too.
It’s beyond belief that this year started in utter hell from absolutely all points of view and now it’s turning into a dream.
Having an article go viral is a wonderful high that is probably going to get me hooked on Medium forever. What am I saying? That’s just the cherry on the cake! I was hooked the second I posted my first article.
