Incredible Stats: I Can’t Believe I Broke the Barrier in 2 Months of Medium!

I still can’t believe it happened. I was dreaming about it, I was working for it, writing a lot, and reading like crazy but I did not expect it to happen in 2 months.
I’m ecstatic! And I want to share this joy with the world, just like others shared it with me.
Let me start with the beginning.
I started on Medium 2 months ago, namely on April 3rd. Before that, I had no idea Medium was an open writing platform.
I found it during a very difficult time in my life and it helped me so much to get out of the dark place I was in.
I had serious surgery, lost my job, got covid, and was severely depressed.
I was spending all day long in bed, hugging my laptop.
That’s when Medium came into the picture. And I started reading.
That’s how I figured out some people are making money from this. Granted, not a lot of money. I learned that only about 7% of writers are making more than 100$ a month, but I had nothing to lose (or do) so I started writing.
And then I got bit by the Medium bug. Bit so bad that I got 500 followers in my first month.

My first-month stats were pretty encouraging too, so I kept going.
I had no specific goals for my second month. I just wanted to do better than the first month but wasn’t thinking of specific numbers. I just kept going. Not taking breaks. Running like a horse that broke free in a field of hay.
Like everyone else here, I was dreaming that one day I’ll be in the 7%. And one day further I’ll be making a full-time living from writing articles.
Who wouldn’t want that, right?
I believe there’s a writer hiding in most of us. And that writer wants to make a living from words. No exceptions.
I was checking stats every morning and the numbers were going up. Slowly, but surely. Both the followers and the earnings.
I know you’re dying to know the stats. Unless you’ve already scrolled down past my babble just to hear the stone-cold numbers.
It’s ok, I get it. I’m here for the numbers too.
I won’t keep you waiting further. So here goes.
Let me start with THE BAD:
- I never got curated.
- I never had an article go viral.
- I have 0 referenced members.
Continuing with THE NEUTRAL:
- I posted 30 articles (just like the previous month)
- I read a million articles. Did I say a million? I meant a trillion.
Now, for THE GOOD:
- 9050 views (vs. 2802 in my first month)
- 3393 reads (vs. 1127 in my first month)
- 934 new followers (for a total of 1412 followers)
- 48 new e-mail subscribers (for a total of 68 subscribers)
- a copywriter job as a result of my articles on Medium
AND THE INCREDIBLY GOOD:
- and the most awesome of all, I made more than 10 times the amount I made in April.
- And most-most awesome, I made over 100 $!! Most specifically, 129.84 $ exactly.
- And the most awesomest of all the awesomes — I’m in the 7%!
It’s incredible and unbelievable and out of this world and I’m just here in my bedroom jumping around for joy!
PS: I know the last 3 bullet points are the same thing and some words are incorrect.
I also know exactly how I did it and I’ll follow up with an article about it.
It’s all math, strategy, and hard work, no luck involved and no grand destiny schemes. It was all controllable, so you can do it too.
