Vegetables Bring Joy To Life
Nature Prompt 4th week of January2023

I saw the cart above and the vendor shouting “Fresh green vegetables come and take”.
Vegetables are sold in markets, departmental stores, and also carts.
I stopped the cart above and asked him what the tomatoes cost. I bought a kilo and asked if I could take a picture of the vegetable cart. He gladly obliged telling me that I could certainly take a picture.
He also made it a point to say that his vegetables were fresh and would look nice in a photo.
What are vegetables?
Vegetables are the fresh edible portions of certain plants — roots, stems, leaves, flowers, fruit, or seeds.
These plant parts can be eaten fresh or prepared in a number of ways. A plant-based diet is getting popular as people are moving to vegetarianism and veganism.
A diet that is rich in vegetables and fruits can have a positive effect on the health of people.
Dieticians often say that you should color your plate by including different colors of food and eating them for promoting good health.
The best part is that eating vegetables keeps you slim and fit.
Even meat eaters have some plant-based diets. They include salads in their foods.
Almost everyone I meet says that they do have some amount of plant-based diet even if they are not pure vegetarians.
I found a quote that resonated with my thoughts.
The majority of my diet is probably vegetables, but I’m not a vegetarian or vegan.
Abigail Spencer

I went to a wholesale vegetable market and I found potatoes were selling. Wherever you travel in the world you find potatoes prepared in some form or the other.
Potatoes can be mashed, baked, boiled, fried, or added to any dish to make it tastier.
Potatoes are like a lifeline for everyone.

The fresh lemons are also a pleasure to witness. It can be used for many things.
People use it as a lemon soda drink. It can be cut and the juice can be used in salads.
It has a lot of vitamin ‘C’. The juice can be taken out and drunk for absorbing the vitamin.
It is also useful for digestion and coughs.
Lemon is everybody’s best friend. I buy a kilo each time I go to the market and keep it till it finishes. I also take a raw lime by taking out the juice and have it first thing in the morning.
I love vegetables. They can be used creatively to make many things. I am inspired by people who grow their own vegetables.
As a kid, I saw my mother grow them. She loved to plant carrots, tomatoes, peas, beans, potatoes, ginger, onion, and others depending on the season. There is a lot of creative skill and inspiration behind growing vegetables.
This week we will talk about vegetables. It is nature’s gift and our best friend.

Let us now look at the wonderful posts on In Joy And In Sadness, Flowers Are Our Friends
Flowers have sparked a lot of creativity, positivity, and beauty in life. There has been a lot of interest in them.
I am sure you will agree with me that everyone has had some inspiration and has been affected by flowers in their feelings and emotions. Some did not like a certain flower. So many perspectives. Let us enjoy reviewing them.
Joyce gushes with happiness when she would walk into the forest and saw little green shoots grow little buds would open into beautiful flowers. They have a joyful impact on people’s lives and health.
Fatima loves roses and she lovingly calls them the undisputed queen of flowers. She finds them a great source of inspiration. They are radiant, refreshing, and with positivity. Who will not be in awe and love them for their beauty?
Wiliam dazzled me with different flowers found in different parts of the world. I am a nature lover but learned great facts about beautiful flowers. The African violet has a dash of purple on pure white refreshing flowers. Read on and enjoy.
Look at the opening lines of Monoreena. “She opened her eyes. Her lashes like petals spread wide to inhale the cold air. She smiled at the beauty around her — the fallen leaves on earth and the twinkling stars above. How can she not love her world?”
I was dazzled by her writing, quotations, analysis, pictures, and her own paintings.
Debika has a beautiful garden on her balcony. She is a keen gardener and in the small place she has created the most amazing garden. This is so inspiring and creative.
Mia Verita believes that flowers have a lot of power. They affect the mood of a person. They bring good health and joy. They can be used for medicines. Her write-up on flowers actually spoke to me. Her photographs are a wonderful accompaniment to her words.
Akemi says that flowers teach you color coordination and are the best color consultants. She has enriched the article with so many beautiful flowers with amazing colors.
Kerrie finds the beauty and simplicity in a flower amazing. The seed of their growth and nurturing makes you feel accomplished when you see the beauty in the blossoms. She has many beautiful houseplants.
Marta’s post is very creative. She has made flowers from coffee capsules. She mixes colors and makes very elegant-looking flowers. We can also try it out.
Hermione loves flowers and has set up her own website and writes about flowers. She also has a small business of flowers. She had great joy in planting tulips and taking them for her daughters. She was sad when she grew flowers but could not meet her children because of the lockdown.
Cristina Cattai weaves a personal tale sensitively around this flower story, which we all can relate to. The chrysanthemums her mother disliked and she was asked to do a flower arrangement from those flowers.
Terry has taught me a lot about flowers and their names. I saw Hydrangeas in California. They were beautiful in many colors and big sizes. We also have camellias in winter. I learned about Crepe Myrtle and double knock-out roses. Amazing pictures.
Gauri wrote about her experience of the freak winter storm affecting Texas. She has shown photos of how the water turned into ice. Dobby, her daughter’s German Shepherd puppy, sat around her feet, sucking on bits of ice.
Snow “is like a million little suns sparkling, the ones that you can hold only for them to vanish,” Divya writes about her experience when her family went to the hills and waited for it to snow. when they were actually leaving it snowed unexpectantly and the adventure thereof.
Aakash felt very cold the first time it snowed but enjoyed the snow a lot. He welcomes the snowy winters after the warm summers with open arms. Enjoy his experiences with snow.
Caroline was born in the UK but grew up in South Africa. She visited the UK in her adult years, but felt out of place and missed her home in South Africa which she has adopted and adapted to as her country. She finds her roots in her home where she is present.
