Update on Submission Guidelines

You can submit both draft and published daily stories to ILLUMINATION

We piloted our new submission model started on 01 September 2020.

The new submission required accepting only a draft version of your stories.

Even though it provided significant benefits to some writers, we identified that submitting just a draft version did not meet the writing goals of some writers.

We received feedback from many writers, analyzed their suggestions, and decided to revert our submission model by accepting both draft and published.

The main concern was time-sensitive materials for prolific writers. They pointed out that their content needed to be published immediately so that the readers could consume the content promptly.

We understand this concern and support our writers. We’ll always safeguard our writer’s interests.

Publication’s purpose is to give visibility to the stories of our writers.

We support the writing goals of our writers and want them to succeed by being flexible.

As usual, ILLUMINATION accepts both draft and published submissions.

However, we still recommend a draft due to the benefits it offers to the majority.

As you know, draft submissions don’t age in the submission queue and reflect the date and time of publishing. Draft submission enables the story to be displayed and stay longer on publication’s top pages.

We accept up to three previously published or draft stories within 24 hours.

Here is our updated submission guideline.

There is no limit for curated stories. You can submit as many as curated stories. When submitting your previously published curated stories, you may add a brief private note to the submission in line with “this story is curated to distributed topics [topic names such as #self #relationships etc.”.

We highly recommend submitting the curated stories to our new collection called ILLUMINATION-Curated. This collection has a different reader group and can give your curated stories to be read by a new audience.
