Illumination Integrated Publications created a new publication to separate AI-generated content from other pubs. It has a separate submission guideline. Please check it before submitting your stories to the Lampshade of Illumination.

How to submit articles to Illumination Publications

To submit an article, click the three dots … icon in edit mode, Add to Publication, choose ILLUMINATION, and click on Select and Continue, then Submit.

Note: In our experience, draft submissions gain better visibility and consequently more reading times. Articles with a recent publication date will appear first in the publication. Very old publication dates may end up in the archive.

We strongly recommend that you use Grammarly or a similar tool to edit and revise your article before submitting it.

Helpful Reminders to Writers

Tags

Use appropriate tags to help readers find your story.

To reach out to ILLUMINATION followers on various topics, you may consider one of the appropriate tags shown in our publication header.

ILLUMINATION Focus areas

Titles

All stories/articles must have a correctly formatted TITLE. We don’t require a kicker or a subtitle, but a subtitle helps engage the reader.

We don’t require a subtitle on the article itself but do require one in the display title/subtitle.

Text Formatting

We all love to see readable pieces. If your formatting is all over the place, this won’t help us appreciate your writing.

Keep paragraphs short.

Follow the curation guidelines regarding quotations and text formatting throughout the article.

Images

All stories must contain a suitable image. You must provide every image with a link or copyright information. By clicking on the photo, you can add the attribution for the photo (see the citation of the image in this article).

Many images found through a Google search and on Pinterest are copyrighted. You may not use any copyrighted image. Check all images before using them in your story.

The responsibility for ensuring screen captures meet copyright guidelines belongs to the author.

We suggest that you use free image sources such as Unsplash.com, Pixabay.com, or Pexels.com. You may use personal images but credit them as “Author photo” or similar language that indicates your ownership.

If you do not credit every image with appropriate copyright information, editors will send a private note reminding you to follow the guidelines. You will need to resubmit the article after completing the changes.

Grammar and Spelling

Error-free writing is important to us and our readers, so please make sure you proofread your work before submitting it. Use Grammarly or a similar online editor.

If your story contains too many grammatical errors, editors will send a private note reminding you to follow the guidelines. You will need to resubmit the article after completing the changes.

No Abusive Content on ILLUMINATION

We reserve the right to refuse any piece which is sexist, racist, targets individuals, targets organizations or businesses, refers to pedophilia, sexual abuse, or pieces that are deemed by our editors to be offensive.

Continued submission of abusive articles will result in removing the writer from the ILLUMINATION Publication.

ILLUMINATION has Zero Tolerance for Plagiarism

We do not accept stories written by other authors.

Plagiarism will result in the removal of the writer from ILLUMINATION.

Writers are responsible for citing all sources of quoted or paraphrased content.

Please review the following guidelines before submitting your stories.

Zero tolerance to plagiarism on ILLUMINATION

No Defamation, Discrimination, and Hate Speech Published

Previously Published Stories

ILLUMINATION suggests that you submit draft stories. This ensures that your post appears at the top of our list on the publication's front page. Previously published stories slip in with those of the same date. Only the most recently published stories have visibility on the front page.

Illumination accepts previously published articles too. However, you can submit only one a day.

*We ask all of our writers to keep their Private Note Settings On.

Our editors leave notes for writers when edits are required or if we aren’t able to publish your article for some reason. If you’ve received a rejection without a note, you may want to check your Medium settings.

Our editors support writers via a Slack workspace. If you don’t have access to Slack, please send a request via this link.

If your stories get delayed more than 48 hours, please contact the owner and chief editor, Dr Mehmet Yildiz, on the Slack workspace. He will help you with your inquiries and speed up publishing.
