The book is presented as a guide to help readers find meaning and fulfillment in life.

To Be Happy Is To Do What We Are Meant To In Life.
How many 100 pages actually change your life? This is one.
Being happy is a tough topic. It ties in with our expectations with life, and that is constantly at war with sustenance. I mean, we do have to eat.
It has been a while since I have done a book review. Life takes over as my businesses start screaming for attention. However, this is one compelling read that I want to recommend. My review is captured in a YouTube video I recorded yesterday. You can watch the sub-3-minute video below.
“The Business of Time” has 3 simple ideas. They are: -
Earn More.
Work Less.
Feel Happy.
When the book mentions “Earn More” as an idea, it is not going along the conventional mold of worker harder or longer hours. It is about understanding our personal value in the marketplace.
We should not short-change ourselves. When we know our value, we are increasing our hourly rate, if we are in the business of exchanging time for money.
The idea of “Earn More” has to go in hand with “Work Less”. The simple idea is when we earn more, we can afford to work less. The author admits that this is a financial perspective.
That choice is a critical mind-bomb. It changes our perspective. When we can start balancing “Earn More” and “Work Less” in our mental equilibrium scale, our quality of life and mental health improves.
We have a choice.
And at that point, we will be able to “Feel Happy”. Feeling happy is an emotion and a powerful emotion. It is more important to recognize the trigger of that emotional state. The author believes that it has to do with self-empowerment.
The literature of psychology is littered with many forms of self-empowerment. What the book focuses on is our ability to take back control of our lives. That is manifested in our ability to make decisions for ourselves because we can.
As I reflect, I have to agree with the author. Would I have fought for my promotion in a job that I did not appreciate for ten years if I had been financially sound?
Would I have taken that high-paying job to pay the bills when I shared no affinity with it?
These questions answer themselves.
More importantly, this book opens our minds to new perspectives. We can actually do something for ourselves.
And we should.
This is our life. We only live once. To that point, being happy is not simply about emotions. It is about fulfillment.
We put meaning into our life. No one else can. If this book can help you find meaning in your life, then these 100 pages will be a worthy investment.
The Business of Time Is The Business Of Being Happy.
