This is How you can make People do Anything you Want

Make them feel Important

Photo by Sebastián León Prado on Unsplash

I suck at making friends.

To be definite, I suck at maintaining friendships. I don’t know why I lied to you in the first place.

I think this is the reason why even my friends are not ready to help me.

I was bad at human relations. I was mean and egoist.

But, that’s not how it works. We are human beings. We need each other’s support and care during tough times.

We can never be Independent.

Many times we have seen or experienced, even our loved ones or closest in the circle are not ready to help us.

Expecting them to perform something that we want them to? But why will anyone under this sky do something he or she isn’t interested in?

How can we make him do so? Luckily, that’s not rocket science.

You only need to execute these 2 words in your daily life.

Appreciation. Encouragement

I can’t over emphasis the importance of these two words in your life for better human relations.

In today’s world of pointing out mistakes, complaining, condemning people for their wrong deeds, we often forget to appreciate and encourage them for their good ones.

The deepest principle in human nature is the craving to be appreciated — William James

There’s a scarcity of appreciation and encouragement in today’s world, especially in these uncertain times.

A rare individual who honestly satisfies this heart hunger will hold people in the palm of his or her hand and “ even the undertaker will be sorry when he dies.”

It was this desire for a feeling of importance that led an uneducated, poverty-stricken grocery clerk to study some law books. His name was Lincoln. It was this same feeling of importance that inspired Dickens to write his immortal novels.

The power of the feeling of Importance

Some people go insane in search of a feeling of importance.

I am not joking around!

Half of the people who go insane have nothing organically wrong with their brain cells. They have reached insanity just because they didn’t receive a “ feeling of importance”. They were left alone in this cruel world.

In the book “ How to Win Friends and Influence People” by Dale Carnegie, a case was illustrated, where a married woman went insane because she didn’t receive love, sexual gratification, children, and social prestige from her husband.

Her husband didn’t love her and refused to eat with her, forced her to serve his meal upstairs.

Just because she didn’t receive love, appreciation, and encouragement, she went insane. That’s the power of the feeling of importance.

Say No to Flattery

Wait a minute!

Don’t misinterpret genuine appreciation and encouragement for flattery. Flattery does not work with intelligent people.

True, some people are so hungry, so thirsty, for appreciation that they will swallow anything, just as a starving man will eat grass and fish worms.

Flattery is cheap praise.

It is counterfeit, and like counterfeit money, it will eventually get you into trouble if you pass it to someone else.

Appreciation is sincere, flattery is insincere. One comes from the heart out, the other from the teeth out. One is universally admired, the other is universally condemned.

Don’t be afraid of enemies who attack you. Be afraid of the friends that flatter you. — General Obregon

Your takeaway

Make it a habit of appreciating each and everyone you know, for as small as baking a cupcake( though for me, it’s still tough).

Appreciate your mom, for cooking a tasty meal, appreciate your friends for remembering your birthday, appreciate your employees for visiting the workplace on time, appreciate the workers for cleaning the sidewalks.

Shape it as a way of life.

Let’s try to figure out the other person’s good point. Everyone you meet is superior to you in one form or the other.

Learn from their good points.

Don’t forget to make them feel important. Emotions get remembered for centuries. Wrong. They are immortal.

You have the pistol. I have given you the bullets. Now, quickly reload it and start shooting everyone with appreciation and encouragement.

Thank you for reading! Have a nice day.
