This Is How I Write My Articles Two Times Faster Now

Tips from Medium’s top writer that helped me increase my writing speed

As a non-native English writer on Medium, I have faced many problems writing. But the one that annoyed me the most was my writing speed. I used to write an article in at least 4 to 5 hours. But now I have learned a trick from Medium’s top writer Zulie Rane that helped me reduce my writing time almost two times.

I have reduced 2 to 3 hours from my writing time, and now write my articles in almost 1 and a half or 2 hours. I know 2 hours is not a short time for writing an article because many writers write their articles in 30 to 40 minutes, but it’s so much better than writing an article in 5 hours.

I have been following Zulie Rane on Medium and YouTube from her initial times and learned many things from her regarding Medium and writing. But the one that helped me a lot was writing quickly.

She started a session on her YouTube channel in which she would come live and share her writing style and tips with her audience by writing an article in front of them. In all those sessions, she taught us a very useful thing to avoid writer’s block.

She said, before starting your article always make bullet points for what you’re going to write in your article. So that you don’t forget anything and avoid writer’s block. And if you forget something in the middle of the article. You will always have the bullet points to help you remind the thing you forgot.

This lesson was about avoiding writer’s block but helped me reduce my writing time. Because writer’s block was also a reason for my slow writing speed. So I applied it to my articles and after that, I have seen a terrific change in my writing speed.

It’s not only about writer’s block. While writing, many writers forget things for at least 15 to 20 seconds and this happens many times while writing an article. And If you start adding it up it makes a huge amount of time, which you can save by applying this method.

Last thoughts

I have applied this method to my writing and reduced my writing speed from 4 to 5 hours per article to 1.5 to 2 hours per article. I have also seen some other benefits.

I would suggest implementing this method to your writing to improve many aspects of your writing and do well on Medium.
