Although the local residents called it the Institution, it was a maximum-security psychiatric hospital. Its occupants were primarily psychotic criminals who had persuaded the courts they should be rehabilitated.
One night, a patient who thought himself a vampire escaped.
He convinced a blond nurse, his preferred victim, he was harmless. He broke her neck, drank her blood, and escaped into the community.
At 7-Eleven, he saw a girl who met his specifications and followed her home, only to discover Buffy didn’t play nice.
