The Nothing Ear (2) Is Coming Out Soon

The launch date for this pair of noise-canceling earbuds has been confirmed.

In a recent post titled The Nothing Phone (2) was just Announced to be Released Late This Year, I introduced the Nothing brand and plans for their next smartphone release.

Since the release of the Nothing Ear (1) almost two years ago, Carl Pei’s post-OnePlus project has seen considerable success. With the launch of two additional products since the original noise-canceling earbuds, the Nothing Phone (1) and the Nothing Ear (Stick), the company has received significant acclaim in its own right.

Among the company’s products, the Nothing Phone (1) has been particularly well-received and is widely regarded as one of the best cheap phones currently available in the market.

Recently, there have been rumors about the next-generation Nothing Phone (2), with talks of a more premium handset entering the fray.

However, before the launch of the Nothing Phone (2), the company announced the launch date for the Nothing Ear (2) earphones.

The launch date was confirmed in a post on their social media and on the Nothing website, and the Nothing Ear (2) will be launched on the 22nd of March 2023 at 3 pm GMT.

While details about the Nothing Ear (2) are currently limited, the company has released a few teasers to generate excitement for the launch.

The branding for the Nothing Ear (2) features the phrase “ladybug out, beetle in,” which is a nod to the original Nothing Ear (1) promotional material that featured a ladybird.

Additionally, the strapline “Better sound. Better clarity. Just better,” suggests that the company is committed to enhancing the sound quality and overall performance of the earphones.

One significant change to the Nothing Ear (2) compared to the original version is the redesigned casing, which will be more ergonomic. A tweet from Nothing shows the beetle pushing an earbud case that looks similar in size to the AirPods Pro or the recent Xiaomi Buds 4 Pro.

This design change is a welcome upgrade, as one of the biggest grievances users had with the original Nothing Ear line was the unwieldy nature of the case.

By changing the casing to something that is easier to fit in a pocket, the company has addressed one of the significant drawbacks of the original product.

While we do not yet have much information about the features of the Nothing Ear (2), we can expect to see improvements in battery life. Currently, the Ear (1) lasts for approximately five hours on a single charge, with about 34 hours of listening time through the case.

Although these figures are commendable, they are not the best available. Therefore, it would make sense for the company to focus on improving the battery life of the new earbuds.

The launch of the Nothing Ear (2) is highly anticipated, and consumers are eager to learn more about the new product.

We will have to wait for a little over a fortnight for the new earbuds to be unveiled, but the teasers and rumors so far have generated excitement among consumers.
