The Leaves That Steal Your Heart
Nature prompt 3rd week of December 2022

“In every change, in every falling leaf, there is some pain, some beauty. And that’s the way new leaves grow.” ― Amit Ray
I went to the nursery to buy plants for the community garden where I give my voluntary services.
I saw beautiful leaves and my thoughts reflected what Amit Ray quoted when you look at leaves you get some pain that their life is so short and some happiness that they are so beautiful and after shedding from the trees in autumn they grow again in spring.
Leaves signify a new life. A hope and a promise that life is a never-ending cycle. Human beings are born as a baby, then there is childhood, youth, full-grown human being, middle age, old age, and death. Again there is new life.
A green leaf, always makes me think of growth and development, of the self and of the community.
Leaves in many cultures are a symbol of fertility and growth.
The green leaves of spring and summer depict hope, renewal, and revival. The Blazing yellow, orange, and red leaves of fall represent the changing seasons.
Apart from the symbol of fertility and growth leaves are very beautiful and very often you look at them with wrapt attention. Look at the leaves in the above picture.
The leaves are amazing. Every leaf has a maroon beautiful line inside the leaf. It looks as though each one has a line marked by the tip of a colored pen.

Look at these leaves. They are so different from the first picture. Each plant has uniqueness in them. They are so different. This is what I observe when I look at leaves. I find an apt description in the following quotation.
“Anyone can love a rose, but it takes a lot to love a leaf. It’s ordinary to love the beautiful, but it’s beautiful to love the ordinary.”
MJ Korvan

The leaves in the above👆🏼picture are so beautiful. It signifies life and happiness to me with the flaming red color.
These are all my thoughts about leaves.
The takeaways
👉🏼Leaves signify life
👉🏼👉🏼They show us the cycle of life
👉🏼👉🏼👉🏼They remind us of the uniqueness in us just like it is in the plant.
👉🏼👉🏼👉🏼👉🏼Leaves are beautiful if you observe them and think about them.
To wrap up
I have given you my thoughts about leaves. Each plant with leaves steals my heart. What do leaves signify for you?
Do you find leaves beautiful? Do you find peace and healing in thinking about growth and development when you see them?
Leaves steal my heart in all seasons. In Autumn, though leaves are falling they were once young and moving in the rustling breeze. They dance when they are happy with the gentle breeze brushing them.
“Anyone who thinks fallen leaves are dead has never watched them dancing on a windy day.” — Shira Tamir
Leaves steal my heart. I do not find them ordinary. I think they are miracles of the universe.
We will concentrate on leaves this week: Our prompt for this week is
The Leaves That Steal Your Heart.
Review of Nature Posts Of Last week
Dear friends, this is a little note of appreciation for all the writers of this prompt. Several Medium friends told me that they loved the sunset prompt and they are reading all of them slowly.
Writers, you all write with your heart. I love your beautiful posts. I appreciate your interaction. Many read the others but I know others who never read their fellow nature writer’s post. I can only hope for more interaction.
I am missing one of our nature writers Elder Taoist. I hope he is well and everything is fine with him.
We have some new writers who have written for the nature column. Instead of tagging you all, I feel you should all take a peep at my post every Friday. This is the day for a change of prompt. You get a new nature prompt. Then I will not have to tag so many people.
Read the following beautiful posts on The Sunset and other Nature posts.
Monoreena uses poetic words for her description of sunsets. She says you don’t have to buy a ticket to see the Universe’s opera. The orchestra plays in harmony and creates a melody for the human minds to hum and have a human bond.
Fatima feels that sunsets ground us and inspire us that every ending has a new beginning. It leaves us spellbound and of course, it promises a beautiful next day again.
Joyce has reflected the sunset with its amazing colors and brilliance. She has described them as positive emotions and even romantic feelings. I appreciate the description of the beauty of the sunsets.
William has clicked amazing sunset pictures. He feels that it is great to unwind when the sun sets. The sand and pebbles all glisten in the fading sun. I loved the symphony of colors. These sunsets are indeed glorious.
Shubha feels that the sunset is like the postcard-perfect views of the sea with the colors of the sunset reflecting on the water creating a magical aura. She found the beaches in South Goa tranquil, and peaceful. Watching the kaleidoscopic colors of orange and red spread across the water is inspiring and blissful.
Josephine feels that even those who are jaded even can appreciate the magical, if not mysterious, mantle sprawled across the sky, as the sunset sings its swan song for the day. Sunsets are fantastic and they wake up a fantastic otherworldly feeling.
The present moment is the best moment. Watching the sunset Akash remembered his grandfather’s words “No one knows what tomorrow holds the past cannot be changed and will forever stay the same, but the present moment is a gift”.
Victoria feels that we should not wait for a special moment to enjoy a sunset. Sunsets are something that we should appreciate at the end of each day. She says that if you don’t believe in miracles, you just look at a sunset, and you will be gifted one right in front of your eyes.
Hemione had been watching sunsets but they went unnoticed till she moved to Shaftesbury which has an ancient Saxon hilltop town in Dorset, England. She found them amazing and loved the sunset over the distant hills of Somerset.
Duncan feels that sunsets are thrilling and awe-inspiring. It is a time of reflection peace and tranquility and appreciating and being thankful for the beauty and power of nature and the spiritual majesty of the cosmos.
Akemi has been taking pictures of the amazing sunsets in Seattle. She says that the changing position of the sunset with the seasons reminds him of the impermanence of life. He feels that he is lucky to watch and experience the beauty.
Lalitha does not find sunsets are goodbyes. She welcomes the evening by chanting auspicious hymns playing on her laptop. It helps her to cook dinner with thoughts of gratitude She says that you create your sun or small lamp inside your heart and keep it glowing.
Maria has a beautiful orange tree and was so excited at seeing so many beautiful oranges hanging on one branch. Thanks, Marta I love oranges and am refreshed looking at the flaming orange color.
Cristina calls the Banyan Tree that she saw in India her special tree. The Banyan tree is indeed The tree of life. It gives shade. It is revered and it has the symbol of immortality. What a beautiful tree.
Debika bought this beautiful plant called Kalanchoe — Mother of thousands. See the beautiful. Look at the beautiful buds on the leaves.
Josephine’s post is so creative. She has written about how the birds nudge, beak, and bite. She finds that the difference between gentleness, affection, and aggression is quite similar to human beings. I am sure you will all enjoy reading it.
I would like to thank all my dear nature writer friends for their overwhelming support in writing about the moon and other nature stories.
