Response to ‘At Sunset the Sky Speaks in a Thousand Colours’
Magical Mystical Mysterious
Looking at sunsets through the prism of a creative writer’s mind-eye

A sunrise person, that’s what I am and that is what I will always be.
There is something in the rising sun, as it peeks and breaks through the east, that refreshes the spirit.
Not because one has supposedly slept through the night before and is, therefore, invigorated to meet the new day.
That is a generalisation which is not applicable to everyone.
Some people, including creatives, are night owls. They work best in the still and quietude of the night, well after sundown.

But there is also something about sunsets that wake up a fantastic otherworldly feeling.
I could only attribute this kind of feeling to the kaleidoscopic sky that accompanies the setting sun in its goodbyes at dusk.
It does not, however, take a creative writer’s mind-eye to be enthralled by the magnificence of a setting sun bidding bye-bye.
Even the jaded among us could appreciate the magical, if not mysterious, mantle sprawled across the sky, as the sunset sings its swan song for the day.
And the creative in us, whether one wants to admit to being imaginative, may likely entertain mystical thoughts while in awe of the prismatic sunrise sky.
Who wouldn’t?

This is in response to Dr. Preeti Singh’s prompt about how sunsets communicate to us a myriad of thoughts, spiritually and inspirationally.
