The Fragrance is Out of This World!
International Artist Day
This yellow rose (above) has the most incredibly glorious perfume.
This bloom, and some of her pals, are putting on a wonderful display in next door’s garden, as if to say — “No! It can’t be winter yet. We won’t allow it!”
It has gone very, very cold in the last week or so.

The temperature has plummeted so much that I’m sitting at my desk wearing two jumpers, thermal socks, fur-lined boots, with a blanket over my knees, and fingerless gloves. I also have a dog-warmer thing in my chair.
Sometimes, if it’s paperwork, I can do some of it in bed.

My week has been overrun with Christmas orders of cards, coasters and prints.
Also, a ton of admin-type things which arrive in emails demanding attention so I have to go off down a rabbit hole to get them sorted.
So, there’s not much else about the week to tell you.

Of course, PupperJack takes up quite a lot of time — as he so rightly deserves.

He has spent much energy and bandwidth this week protecting his personal space from intruders. So much so, it needs a separate story. (It’s currently in my draft folder.)

Today, 25th October is ‘International Artist Day’.
Art is intrinsically important to human civilisation for the sake of a balanced life, and for complete health. It needs to be nurtured in every possible way for the enrichment of us all as a collective, and as individuals.
Art is everywhere, in many forms. Maybe this day will help spark your creativity to get out those paints you’ve never used, have a go at papier mâché (one of my absolutely favourite materials of all time), or pick up that tapestry you started, and stopped; or bake a fantastic, or a comfortable cake ; or just relax in the garden and enjoy the art that is nature.
Or, of course, write a story for Medium.
Yay for art!
Last year, Dennett started the Photo-a-Day Challenge to help combat the pandemic blues. She takes photos during the week, chooses the best ones, and adds some narrative.
