The Brightest Star
A poem for my little star whose light began to burn in September ‘21.
The Brightest Star
The brightest star is not a single constellation, It’s a single soul, more precious than gold. More darling than any Nation, Her story has yet to be told.
The brightest star is not Ursa Major, She is just a babe, a young wee thing, More important than a better’s wager, Her existence is a melody that my soul sings,
The brightest star illuminates more than any supernova, It is not Aries or Gemini, More beloved to me than any Casanova, She is the apple of my eye.
She shone so brightly as she drew her first breath, All the stars were left to their shame, I swore my fealty to her from life to death, My daughter, Novella is her name.
Thank you for reading my poem. It’s hard to put into words the love I feel for my little girl but I did my best.
