Dreaming Of Cornwall

A poem inspired by a recent visit to the English county

I dream of golden sands and crashing waves, Jagged edged cliffs and fields for days, I can practically taste the warmth of a scone, And the memory of a small brick home.

Ivory Crawling up a stone wall, The vastness of the ocean making home seem small, From Cornish pasties to afternoon tea, Cornwall is the place to be.

From the bright blue sea to the ruins of old towers, You’ll fall under Cornwall’s calming powers, A land with history that could fill a book, You’ll fall in love with just one look.

Battles have raged and wars have been fought, The beauty of Cornwall many have sought. I dream of its splendour, and it’s blanket of green, There’s nary a more beautiful sight to be seen,

I dream of Cornwall with its rail ways and mines, The delight of Cornwall untouched by time.
