The Beauty About Recycling Old Bicycles

There's no limit to the creativity of an artist

It’s obvious. I like some good art. While I can’t associate anything with abstract arts, I’m even more into artwork created from or in nature. I’ve loved creating projects as a child involving natural objects and while I don’t take the time to do them these days, I enjoy seeing them.

Something that pulled my attention as soon as I moved into this quaint village, were those painted bicycles at various points in town. They were decorated in different colors, standing against a fence or lamp pole. But that wasn’t all. The bicycle basket in the back was turned into a flower box.

How brilliant is that?

I was thrilled by the idea of recycling old bicycles in such a beautiful way.

Throughout the seasons a number of flowers have been blooming in these flower boxes. I don’t know if it’s an initiative from the municipality or if it’s individuals looking after them. Because they are surely looked after. Those flowers need care. They need water and of course replacement after a while.

Whoever does it and whoever is involved in it. I absolutely love the idea. These bicycles represent the biking paradise in this region and together with the fresh flowers, they add to the beauty of the village. Very decorative.

At first, I thought this was something specific from this town but just a few weeks ago I’ve been in a city in the north of Germany where I also spotted some recycled bicycles throughout town.

I’m applauding the artists. I love your work.
