NATURE PHOTOGRAPHY

The Inconspicuous Artist

A spider and its fine artwork

Sometimes in life, we do need our significant other. For different reasons than usual. Despite always on the look for beauty in nature, we don’t see everything. We, photographers.

And so it happens as we’re walking through town that my husband points out these spider webs. Not making a big thing out of it but just mentioning it on the side.

Immediately I had to stop and take out my camera. How did I miss this? Such incredible artwork. Created by one of the most inconspicuous artists on earth. A spider. Or more likely a community of spiders.

Thin and delicate strings are part of a complex network of spider webs. All connected. All part of one castle. The spider castle.

I make a step back to get the entire shape of it on camera.

And since it wasn’t enough — as we’re crossing the fields I get to stop another time. I didn’t see it, again. But my husband points at the bush mentioning again, the spider webs.

This artwork is smaller. But thicker too. The background lush green. Countless seeds are part of it. Sticking in the spider web.

I’m no big friend of spiders unless they're in the corner of my room, not moving but eating all the mosquitoes. But I did enjoy displaying their artwork here. I hope you can appreciate the work of these diligent artists.
