The Aromatic Fragrance Of The Roses Fill My Heart With Love And Joy
I went to the rose garden and the roses filled me with love.

Dear friends,
It is Friday today and here I am writing to you to get your love and wish you love and happiness in your lives. This week I visited the rose garden and would like to share some of my thoughts. I would love to receive your comments too about roses and facts that you know.
My visit to the rose garden
February is the month of love. The winter has abated and flowers are in season. It is early spring. The freshness in the air and the beauty of the environment steal my heart with love and joy.
On 14th February when everyone was busy with Valentine’s Day, it was also my eldest son’s birthday. No one knew what Valentine’s Day meant when he was born. Today there is a craze for it.
In my family, no one celebrates Valentine’s Day. They think it is a commercial stunt. I like celebrations small and big and I grew up celebrating small wins. My parents enjoyed celebrating things.
Since it was my son’s birthday and he lives in Australia, I thought let me enjoy some self-love and do something I would like to do. What better for me than visiting the rose garden?
I stood near the roses and took the fresh aromatic fragrance of the roses. They began to fill my heart. What did I think of?
Roses are beautiful, fresh, and lovely, Their fragrance is lifting my spirit with joy, I feel like no outsider, but a part of it all, As I stand gazing upon them with love.
The breeze is blowing softly and slowly, Like a lullaby caressing my cheek and hair, The beauty of the red roses draws the bees, To pick the nectar from it buzzing around.
I love the butterflies that flitter around the roses Drawn with the fragrance flying here and there, They are teasing me and asking me to follow them. I watch nature’s games dancing around the flowers.
I feel like a statue, taking in the aromatic fragrance, Deep in thought, roses envelop me with love and joy.
Facts about roses
Do you like roses? I like all colors of roses. When I visited my son in Berkeley in the USA, I was astonished to see purple, blue, green, and violet roses too.
I would like to share some facts about roses:
- Roses are plants that are good for everyone. There is no poison in them. They are known only for their love. People even eat rose petals. They use rose essence. Rose petals can be put in desserts as well.
- Many fragrances are made with roses and their perfume is aromatic. It is sensuous. Even bubble baths can be made with rose petals. The kings and queens used to have rose petals around them for a bath. About 2000 petals create one gram of rose oil and it is very expensive to extract it.
- There are more than 150 types of roses that grow as shrubby plants, climbers, and groundcovers. Each rose color is associated with a different meaning
- You may know that the rose is the U.S. National Flower since 20th Nov 1986 after President Ronald Reagan officially declared in the famous White House Rose Garden.
I hope you will see roses in a new light.

The editors pick for this week (12th -18th Feb 2022)
This week we have some amazing stories from writers. I would like to put all of them in my selected list but as I am permitted to select only 3, I have the following articles to share:
#1. Winston understands love through nature and early morning freshness and walk. In his words, he understands the meaning of life “Having the passion to love, to do things, the struggle, the suffering, these are what makes life beautiful. Success or not, is secondary”.
#2. Umme Salma feels that you should write wonderful stories so that you can create a brand. Discover your individual strength and create a story. It is best for us to understand this as writers. Read on-
#3. Sahil Patel writes about the challenges faced by writers. There are so many struggles in life and although a writer’s job looks easy it is not so easy to get inspiration and clear ideas in your head every day. You have to think and write your words carefully as there is an audience waiting to read and find something special in your words.
A shout out to T Mann who says when no one is listening someone is always listening to you. The way you speak to yourself determines your positivity or negativity.
Another shout out to our poet David Rudder who enthralls us with his poems every day. Read his poem on the air, the sea, and the sky. This is a beautiful poem on nature:
Want a new challenge? Winston is always ready to challenge everyone with new angles. Look at our Coffee Challenge 4 (CC4). You will enjoy it.
To conclude:
Thank you friends for reading. Hope you will be enticed to go to a rose garden and take in the fresh air and like me be mesmerized by their beauty and fragrance.
I cannot end without showing you another set of roses that I saw in the garden in the picture below. I hope you enjoy it.
