Finding proper publications on Medium can be a bit of a pain sometimes. Especially when you’ve ventured out of your comfort zone and written a beautifully crafted piece — but you just have no idea where to publish it.

So, here’s a giant list of the biggest publications on Medium that are still accepting writers in 2020!

Unlike some of my other helpful guides on publications, this one is going to be a bit simplified — and hopefully easier to use!

I meticulously combed through the largest 265 publications to find the ones that are still accepting writers and are active.

I’ve ordered the list in terms of largest to smallest number of followers. I’ve put the publication name, number of followers, editors, owners, and a link to their submission page.

*If you notice any errors, please comment for me to fix!

*The list has since been updated to 47 publications

Things I excluded:

  • If any publication didn’t have an easy to find submission page, I skipped it (note to these editors — add one please! Even if you aren’t accepting new writers, stating that on the ‘About’ page would be really helpful).
  • Any publication that moved off-platform/closed down
  • Inactive publications — if there hasn’t been a post in a month or two. Or if they’ve only posted very irregularly (once every month or two, etc)
  • Medium owned publications (You can see them at the top of the main page)

Before we begin

If you are somewhat new to Medium, please have a look through this helpful article before using this list.

For those that have a bit of experience on Medium already, why not add a few ‘Top Writer’ tags to your profile? If you need ideas for which ones apply to your niche, here’s a quick guide for that:

And lastly, if you want some tips and strategies for getting published on the platform, here’s a very in-depth guide for that.

Let’s get started, hope you enjoy!
